I inherited this teal velvet blazer from my mom when she passed. I like the color and I like velvet. But the cut of the blazer is super boxy, as she preferred but I do not. Also, I hate the lining and the tacky-looking "velvet" button. And it has the world's dumbest little peplum at the back. I found the exact item on Poshmark for illustration pics, and also dug out an old picture of me wearing it a few years ago during an outfit creation session. Perhaps the only time I have actually worn it??
What do you think? I have somewhat sentimental feelings about it because it was mom's, but I truly don't use it and, worse, it prevents me from buying a velvet item that I actually LIKE because I always think "well I already have that velvet blazer....."
I think I'm getting to the point where I'm ready to take another look at the wardrobe items that I inherited from Mom. At first I just took everything that remotely looked like it might work for me. But now I'm wanting to shed some weight from my wardrobe.
