Vacation Bible School! 150 kids / 5 days and one t-shirt. Well, at least the color is good for me! Anyone else notice how these traditional tees flatten the bust and blouse stiffly around the midsection?

Here, I'm trying a faux tuck and bf's. Tomorrow I teach about Queen Esther, so I'm planning on white pants and some bling!
You'll notice my own personal throne to go with the palace theme!

Styling help and prayers for stamina appreciated!

OK, my brain immediately said "Visual Basic Scripting" and I couldn't see how that was a style at all

I hate the men's tee cut too -- if I get something larger to fit my (small) bust, then it still doesn't fit over my hips.

You look cute! Can you roll the sleeves?

I am with you. I hate the cut of men's tees!! So not designed for the female form.

And, I am so glad I am not alone in reading that as Visual basic Scripting

Ooh - we have VBS next week (but I'm not helping, just dropping off my kids) It's something my kids look forward to all year long. Have a terrific time! Praying for your stamina - My kids can barely make it through the week - I don't know how the adults do it.

Our reasons for disliking the men's T are exactly the reasons my daughter loves them! Tomboy to the core.

I only like that cut of tee when the fabric is super super soft so it's slouchy. Otherwise, I look terrible in them. Your jeans and sandals are cute and look appropriate for dealing with kids all day.

You look great! I've been wondering about making sleeves on tees like this into diagonal, cropped sleeves. I've sometimes cut them off at the seam to make them sleeveless.
VBS is so intense that I used to collapse for the rest of the day, especially as it wasn't air conditioned. The kids love and will long remember the fun songs. Is Queen Ester appropriate for children?

Well. They're in closing ceremonies now, and I made it through my first day! They were quite sweet, really.

I will try rolling sleeves tomorrow.

Joy: Esther's story is seriously "abridged!" No harem (or makeover). No gallows for Haman!

I think the colour is great but agree men's Ts are tough. I have one that I just cannot part with and I roll up the sleeves - it seems to help it a bit - oh and a partial tuck. Then you just have to own it!

Cutting off the banding at the neck can help, then trimming bigger/wider (or not) and finishing the edge with a zigzag stitch or hemming under (or not), then roll the sleeves. The teens would make this into a crop top, but you probably don't want to do this, lol. But I think it's the high crew neck that is least flattering on most women.

Maybe you need to be in charge of the tee shirt selection next year? Then you can get what works best for a diva

Donna/Glory: I'm really tempted to take my sewing machine out, but I need a nap! And yes, the teens, and my tween DD were quite inventive with their shirts!

Honestly by the time you get to the end of the day (or evening) with VBS, if you're anything like me you are just dying to get away from all the kids for a minute. It's a wonderful thing, tons of fun, but oh my word is it a ton of work.

(Sidebar: My daughter LOVES the VeggieTales version of the Esther story. They basically go to the Island of Never-Ending Tickling and it's very abridged. She likes the "Pretty Princess." Our VBS was a couple of weeks ago, and we had circus-themed things.)

It's hard to feel fab in a basic T but you look fab. I think the BF jeans are perfect. Can't wait to see tomorrows outfit. Oh, and a large glass of wine at the end of each day would be my recipe for a successful week at VBS:)

I think you should be called Queen VBS, because your dark wash denims are a wonderful pick and I think Queen Esther would agree.

Have a great time. Our version is ESA camps and Master 10 is contemplating attending next year... better check the tees before I offer to be a helper

I hate those tees too--why do they have to be so *stiff*--but you look great in yours with your bf jeans.

VBS! So many memories, as a child participant, as a teen helper, as a mom.... Last year we had a set that was "Hanging Gardens of Babylon," truly resplendent. And the pastor's seeing eye dog lifted his leg on a bush!!!! As the bush was tissue glued on cardboard, one strongly suspects that the dog was naughty rather than mistaken. SO funny though.

VBS is a true ministry. Don't think you need styling help but request for prayers for stamina--granted.
