Valentine's Day outfit suggestions

I'm looking ahead, I know, but was interested in the community's opinions on possible outfits for Valentine's Day, since i will have to make a purchase. Our first Valentine's Day together, and this guy is a keeper. I'd like to make him melt.

I received the dress today pictured in photograph #1. I will wear it for sure. It is red, glitter / sequined (it appears as though it could be latex / leather in the photograph, but it is sequin), hemline several inches above my knees. I wanted a mini for Valentine's Day.

Photograph #2 shows three pairs of shoes that I do not own. I would like to purchase one of them.

I love wearing boots during winter, and the first pair is red glitter almost knee high, 4" heel, not sure how high the platform but appears to be 1/2" to 3/4".

The second pair is a red glitter Mary Jane heel, 4", no platform.

The third pair is red glitter pumps...I like the cute bow tie at the toes...with a 4 1/2" heel and a 3/4" platform.

Photograph #3 shows the nylons I am considering: white, neutral, red, light pink, dark pink.

I normally would not consider red on red, but if I chose that I think the glitter would provide contrast. What do you think?

FYI, my hair is browinish-blond, straight, and goes a little more than halfway down my back.

What do all of you consider to be the most romantic combination?

I personally like the Mary Janes the most.

I would go with a more neutral tight. Too much and you might be blinding.

Would you consider choosing one of the ultra-sexy elements rather than all of them? I'm wondering if a body-con red sequin mini *with* a sky-high heel may be a touch too much.

Like, I'm thinking a cooler way to go might be to pair that dress with a moto jacket and a flat boot, or even a sneaker. Does that horrify you?

I’m strongly tempted by the boots and rose stockings. ‘Cause boots are, in the words of Paris Hilton, hot. But that’s a difficult choice. I think the Mary Janes would be more designer and the pumps more romantic.

I like the idea of the lighter pink tights with the Mary Janes. Pink and red is a popular look right now (check out runway fashions). Have fun.

For the fun of it, I would go dark pink tights and the bow pumps. You will look stunning in any combination, the only tights I don't think you should wear are white.

Those tights and boots would be a great combo, but the tights look see through, is this for the privacy of home? You’ll certainly get his full attention in them

April: No, that does not horrify me. I never thought about pairing a sneaker with a dress that formal, but now I am curious to see what it looks like in the mirror. I definitely want to look sexy that day, though.

Rachylou: You have the same thought process as me, and you are going back and forth the same as me.

Molly Mac: One of the pinks is kind of my lean, too, for the nylons, but I could see the others also looking nice.

Bijou: I am curious, how come you are so against the white nylons? I am actually seriously considering the combination you suggested (pink nylons bow pumps).

Jess: The dress will cover what needs to be covered, so this is a going out outfit. I haven't put the set together yet because I am undecided, so I put a photograph on here of just the nylons.

I ran this by my brother, and he says that I will kill Adam no matter what I pick. He likes any of the colored nylons over the neutral, since the colors look sexier to him, with a lean toward the dark pink like some of you here. He thinks those lend a little contrast and a little consistency at the same time. He's also equally undecided on the shoes.

Alyssa - the white is a bright contrast against the red, the other combinations are more tonal, so whilst the pink nylons are bright, there is less contrast with the red than white. To me, pink and red are the colours of Valentine's Day, whereas red and white is Christmassy (so cool when you want to be a glam Santa's Little Helper)!

Just tonight I found these pantyhose online. I may get them regardless, but how do you feel about these with my Valentine's Day outfit? Neutral with pink hearts.

As for my shoes, I ordered both the bow pumps and the boots. I'll get the Mary Janes, too, at some point, since they all are so cute. I am leaning toward the pumps, since he has seen me in a lot of boots, and you all agreeing that the pumps are romantic, seems like a reason to change things up. Though, if it snows that day, I am likely to wear the boots -- obviously, with a solid color pantyhose and not the heart ones (if I decide to wear them) since the calves will be behind the boots.

Biujou: Good point about the Christmas look. I guess it can, but without green it's not my first thought. I am leaning toward one of the pinks myself since it is a Valentine's Day color, and he also has never seen me in pink tights. My brother thinks colored nylons are sexy, and that is part of the plan.

Just FYI, before I posted this, I was considering a red dress of some sort with white nylons and pink pumps as an option, but decided on the sequins / sparkles instead because of the formality.
