I loathe eating in crowded restaurants on Valentine's Day.

Some of you will recall that for many years, Mr. A and I had a long-distance relationship and saw each other only on weekends.

Now that we can be together on actual holidays, my plan is for a nice dinner at home.  I'm thinking Steak Diane for Mr. A and a vegetarian version for myself (Mushrooms Diane?).  He loves Ina Garten's Skillet Brownies so I will likely make those as well, plus roasted potatoes and some sort of steamed vegetable to counteract all that richness.

Last Friday, I took a three-hour Zoom class learning to make the book structure shown below to give as a valentine.  I already gave him his gift (an antique cast-iron statue to add to our woodland scuplture trail - weighs a ton so LMA moved it for us last week) but I have some smaller items to wrap as well.

Over to you - do you love this holiday, dislike it, ignore it?
