Actually, those are larger than I imagined. I like the look of a leather rucksack but do wish to avoid the student vibe (no offense to students), I think I may stick to something a little smaller in scale.
Too bad they are so annoying to wear if one is used to a shoulder bag. Suz, I saw a teal green Danier one in Loulou magazine but I have not seen it in store or on website - I hate when that happens! It looked like one that might make me eat my back pack-hatin' words.
Ugh! I passed on a simple tartan with a fold over in faux leather that looked and felt amazingly like the real thing...just because I did not think it would be age appropriate at 50+.
I'm not sure how I feel about wearing backpacks a second time around. For example, while I love the one featured on today's blog post, I have a hard time seeing how to wear them in a dressy and age-appropriate way.
Of course, that'w what YLF is for...to open my eyes.
I have a beautiful one that Marley recommended a couple of years ago from Nordstrom. I use it quite a bit. I use it when I am out with my kids at a zoo or a museum but it is most helpful when I take my mom somewhere and need to push her wheelchair.

I still have my Versace backpack from the 90s and the scale is much smaller than these. I don't know how I feel about wearing it today. It might feel gimmicky.
Hm, I wasn't a fan when they were popular the first time around. No matter how much they try to dress up and bring back belt bags and backpacks, I am just not on board with that look.
Although JulieJohn makes a good point. If I am forced to go topless, I guess a backpack will provide better coverage than a typical handbag! ; )
Too paranoid that someone can pick it while it's hanging off my back. And I used one for years as a diaper bag and I just outfitted my kindergartner with her first official school one so I'm sitting this out. I'm a cross body gal - need to see my valuables in front of me.
My 6 yr old came up behind me, saw the mannequin, and said, "What the...?" It really needs to put a shirt on. LOL
That said, I would love to be able to use a stylish back pack at times. I prefer the look of shoulder bags but for an all day outing, my shoulders protest.
I love backpacks! While I agree with Anna that pickpockets are a potential issue, it is so liberating to have hands and arms free. The citron coloured one has caught my eye - I'm thinking what a great splash of colour for the winter.
Mine has a magnetic flap AND a zipper top under the flap, so I think it would pretty darn hard to pick. Also, my wallet always ends up at the bottom and youd have to stick your arm in up to the elbow to get it! Sometimes I even have trouble getting to it...
