Updated wardrobe ideas-what do you think this time?

I've been busy pinning away, using a new colour palate (I always thought I was a soft summer but I feel probably i'm actually a soft autumn, at least based on my make up colours, my hair shade etc). @Chiara thought I was probably a soft autumn too. I took advice on body shape and colour and to suit a classic casual lifestyle.

What do you think? Most pieces are on the affordable side this time, lots from Boden and Thought. There are a few designer pieces (Stella McCartney bag and Burberry trench) which i'll have to save for so keep for last. Of course they might go out of stock before I can get them so we'll have to wait and see about those.

I couldn't find any navy pumps I liked and i'd also like to find some more in rose/blush and terracotta and maybe in A/W may add some more darker browns. I need to add a few pencil skirts and some nice blouses. A navy blazer, winter coat and handbag. Navy is probably a little too dark for my colouring but its my favourite colour and it doesn't look bad so it stays.

Looking at some of your previous photos, N, I think the soft autumn palette suits you. You have selected some lovely items that will be the building blocks of a cohesive wardrobe. Navy can be tricky for those of us with soft and warm coloring. Sometimes, a darker teal can work as an alternative to navy. It pairs well with mustard gold, browns, and rich reds. I can make navy work as long it is paired with warmer whites and gold jewelry.

Nuancedream, I think Navy is okay for me, even black is okay actually. I think i'm more neutral with some slight warmth but I feel like I can pull it off. Yes i'm soft but I do like how deeper colours look, maybe that's my aesthetic as I prefer classical style and look. I'm hesitant to use other colours because of colour matching, navy is much easier than other colours (other than black or white).

I actually feel good about this latest addition...the only part is the lighter off white colours and maybe the taupe, i'm not 100% certain about those until I try them but I think the others will work.

Looks like a grand experiment! I am a fan of trying the less expensive version if a thing, and then stepping up if you love it and it has longevity.

I'm excited to start buying next month. It's going to take me a year to get all those and two years if I count the trench and bag haha. Anyway clothes first. I might not get to keep everything anyway, as usually things don't fit me, but it is a starting point at least.

RainB yes that was my aim, I really want each item to work with a lot of other items. I think it is necessary when you have such small wardrobe. I think its good even when you have a big wardrobe, much easier to find an outfit and less likely to make a style mistake.

That’s a very nice looking collection. I’m also excited for you to start buying things. I’m curious how the next stages will play out, as you continue to discover more about yourself and as fashion does what it does. These all look like the kinds of essentials that stick around for a long time, but of course companies don’t know your plan, and might stop making one or the other, maybe before you get it or maybe if you need to replace a piece.

I say, do you have a buying plan? Like burgundy top and skirt first... that sort of thing?

FashIntern yes, the companies don't know my plan so I do hope the pieces stick around...I think 2 pieces up there are already out of stock but one may be restocked. The other one (the burgundy skirt, is gone forever). I think the pink ones will need to be bought before Autumn hits (maybe some will even go in the sale...) I'll probably leave the burgundy until autumn as more styles will come out too and focus on more summer pieces at first.

Rachylou, my first shop will be from Sezane.

The marinieres with the golden rimmed buttons and a pair of jeans and the pink shirt-jacket. If I pair the jeans with a navy top already in my closet and the pink jacket, that's an outfit, or the navy striped one and the pink with the jeans. The red probably won't go, too many different colours for my liking but it probably could work otherwise.

Very nice range of colours, I can see them working well together! You can get the marinieres at Petit Bateau or st James, they are always on stock and imho better quality than Sezane.

My wardrobe is mainly black, navy, cream, charcoal and some burgundy/pigeon blue. I realised last year that it is too dark and I am now in the process of adding more cream and rose to soften it up.

You may want to consider increasing some light neutrals to add more variety. Good luck with the research!

Minaminu I've got one pinned from Amour Lux as well. I'll also look in Petit bateau, I just liked the sustainability part of Sezane, but I do like that Armour lux is made in France. I think Saint James too?

Incredible planning. I have never built a wardrobe like this. Maybe how I ended up with 200 items or more at my highest!
It’s a good idea! They look beautifully cohesive and likely to suit you. The colours should suit the “soft autumn” you think you are. But more important than that is that you feel happy and that you look good in them.
I hope not too many sell out.

I think your color palette is perfect. I think everything here will look wonderful on you. I have an urge to mimic that People Tree cardigan. It’s pretty, and perfect for layering during transitional weather. Burberry trenches are very costly here but I found mine on sale at the end of a season. I know they say Burberry trenches don’t go on sale, but I found mine at the end of a season.... I try not to get too invested in any one item, but I maintain the concept, color and silhouettes, because my experience has taught that there will always be something else....

I do have questions about 2 of the items. The navy mini, are you comfortable with the length? And the burgundy heels look really high, do you need/will you wear something that high?
