Update on Leather Jacket Woes and a WIW

In an earlier thread I described a leather jacket I ordered in two sizes.

Well, the replacement jacket came yesterday. To make a long story short, I'm returning them. The one I already had is still a bit snug through the shoulders while wearing a lightweight sweater. The one that just came is fine through the shoulders but is big and baggy everwhere else. My husband said there ought to be an inbetween size. He really hated the bigger one.

In my WIW from a couple days ago, I'm wearing a leather jacket that fits with a tee shirt. That's why I wanted the new jacket to function differently. I'm using my Blackwatch shoulder bag, and added a hand knit scarf to try to tie in the colors.

Your hand knit is beautiful! Love the soft colours - like a seascape.

How frustrating about the jacket, though. I have often found that Eddie Bauer sizing just won't work for me, personally. I used to be "between sizes" every. single. time. Now I'm often sized out, depending on the type of item. It's a shame because i think the quality is generally pretty good and for outdoorsy type stuff it is useful.

You will find your leather jacket. I actually gave up the search last year after looking at and trying on dozens. And then found two within a few months!

I think perhaps this one was just too boxy a cut to work the way you'd hoped.

Yes, I'm giving up. I'm not into the moto style (with the angled zipper) and when you take them out there's not a lot left. I still like the field jacket style.

JAileen, jackets are so hard to get right without trying on at the store. You just have to keep kissing (and returning) the frogs! It's a good idea to take a break. After all, Black Friday is coming A marvelous deal may fall in your lap.

Regarding the jacket, if I had found the smaller one in a thrift store for $25, I would have bought it and worn it with a tee shirt, and been very happy. But for $300 I thought it should be nearly exactly what I wanted. Oh well.
