Update on blue/navy dress

A couple of weeks ago I wrote about a dress I saw online that I was interested in, which they had in blue and a darker navy (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....y-thoughts).

Today I was finally in the town where the online shop has a store, so I managed to try them on. I thought I'd like the brighter blue but I actually preferred the dark/navy one.

It's quite pricey and not in my budget for now, but I really liked the dress so I hope I can order it in a while, maybe after summer as it's too thick for a summer's dress anyway.

I'm seeing it with a scarf or statement necklace... Any thoughts?

I will pass on this. First, its pricey and you will not be able to wear it right away. And you're risking that by at the time you would be able to wear it, it is not going to be as exciting to you (I've been there).

Now, on the dress, I don't like it as it is since I prefer structure (I haven't trained my eye). I don't think the dress is flaring at your waist but up, from your chest. BUT it is a really versatile dress. I would like it with something like a vest that gives you more structure. Even a scarf. I have a grey dress very similar and I wear it with a belt at belly button level, an olive vest or a faux leather croptop.

I think you will need a t-shirt bra for this dress, but I like it. But it IS a beau laid dress.

I'd go for a scarf that doesn't hang down - like a triangle one around the neck.

I don't know your stye, but this is not conventionally flattering. If it takes a lot of effort to style, I would probably pass and find something that looked good plain, and great styled?
Or anything that looks good in dressing room lighting, what is UP with that?

I like the dress in the darker color on you too. I tried a similar dress on at the Gap a few weeks ago but they only had light/bright colors. A statement necklace or scarf would work well and dress it up a bit, but you could wear it casually as is.

I quite like it and think it's a versatile dress that can be styled up or down. The color is lovely on you.

Thanks everyone! Good inputs. I'll wait and see with this one. If I'm lucky it might come on sale, but either way I'll probably wait until after summer to do a purchase...

Hm, I just realised that this dress is actually on sale now, to a much more reasonable price (50 % off!). So now I'm thinking about ordering it, for wearing for fall and winter... With a scarf or statement necklace (and another bra!). I have a couple of easy, casual dark everyday dresses, but I've realised that they're either too short, or that they've started to pill. So I have been thinking about replacing those. But as you've said, it's not conventionally flattering. So maybe I should keep looking? The brand is Swedish and seems to have good quality in their clothes, so in that sense it would be nice to buy something from them. Just wondering if this is it.

Any new thoughts on this one?

I like both the color and the shape on you - it looks to me like it would be lovely in fall/winter!

I think it's quite a nice, basic, dress that you can accessorize any way you'd like. It looks nice on the shoulders. Very versatile for the fall and winter.
It's 100% wool, and it looks like it's nice quality, but obviously, I can't tell so well from a picture, so you're going to have to be the judge of that.
The jumperfabriken site has some cute things!

Oh, and I really love the dark navy colour.

ETA: Oh, Google translate tells me it's cotton. Doh!

I really like the dress and like it on you. I find that sort of dress fun, funky and easy to wear even though there are more flattering options. You could definitely dress it up with a necklace, vest or denim jacket.

Since you have gotten use from similar dresses that you want to replace, I think that you should get this one. You will be able to wear it different ways by changing accessories.

It's light enough for summer and short enough to balance the volume. And it's clearly meant to look sacky. Yes I own it! With this kind of look I subscribe to "go big or go home".

I like this one! I think the angle of the photo is making it look even more "waist surrendering" than it is. The fit in the shoulders is really nice, the sleeve length too, I really like it!
