So -- it's not available in Canada. There are a few in xs in the US but I have to have shipped to a US address because they don't ship from their retail locations to Canada.

At this point, I think I will just keep the one I have. Seems a lot of bother to go through (and expense) to get the xs. I would have to pay for the return of the small. And pay to go down to the US to pick it up. And wait several more weeks when all is said and done -- the very weeks when I'd be wearing the sweater. You know? Maybe it's a sign that I should hang onto the ultra fashion forward oversized version.

I went through this with my Vince leather pants. Found them in a 4 in UK, but with duties, blah blah blah, and not even sure a size down would be better . . . I went for the alteration of the 6's instead.
Sometimes, a bird in the hand! Right?

Yeah. Now I am torn. I just showed Mr. Suz and he was not a fan. On the other hand, that rarely stops me, and usually he comes around big time -- his eye can take a little while to adjust.

Does it make you feel better if I say the BF called these my new Icky Pants???n (allusion to the ikat pants nickname) I said, "woah, these babies are 20 year pants, so you better get used to them!" Yeah, my most expensive purchase ever and he's 'meh' at best. He likes the suede part . . . LOL. At least he supports my choice

Suz, it's too bad it's not the summer when DH and I are in Sacket's Harbor ...we could meet up in Alex Bay and I could get the xs to you! You could still have it shipped to me, and I could ship it to you. I don't know if it would be worth the expense, plus you'd still have the return to deal with.

Mo, thanks for commiserating. I cannot believe your BF is not over the moon about those pants that look so amazing on you!! Well, who can understand men, anyway?

Karie - that is so sweet of you. Let me sleep on it. I suspect the difference in size wouldn't be that big, plus I'd have the waiting (when I could be wearing the lovely sweater...). So...probably won't, but....thank you!

Suz, I have only just caught your earlier thread. I love the sweater and I love it on you. I thinkthe size is perfect. Love the oversized-ness of it and the silhouette is great. Am I right in thinking that this is a little different to your other sweaters? Good addition to your wardrobe I think. Shame about the shipping etc. it can all be such a hassle sometimes:( I was looking at something from Nordies only to be put off by the $47.00 shipping fee!!

Thanks, Anna -- knew I could count on you for that nugget of wisdom. And yeah...fashion forward is good. The truth is, it felt so comfortable and easy that I figure I'll own it when it's on, and that's the main thing in the end.

Deborah, it's definitely different from my other sweaters. I don't have anything in such a heavy weight cashmere, for one! Nor do I have anything that oversized. It's also a true tunic length on me (something else I don't have). And you know what? I like it.

So I'm keeping it. Deals like that don't come around too often. I might as well enjoy it.

I really like this sweater, sized as is. I popped back over to the thread with the pics, and the one with the white shirt underneath is stunning. I seem to remember Angies saying something about adding structure with volume. I think the shirt does this perfectly. It tames the sweater a little bit. I'm sure a turtleneck would do the same thing. I hope this makes sense.

And I was thinking about this... I bet a smaller size would not fit much differently, in the "tenting", which is really the only angle that looked a bit big. I think it's the sweater shape. And _I_ like it...

Suz, I understand completely. I really wish JCrew return policy was easier for us Canadians. My last return cost me $25, lucky for me I had a free return option so they refunded the cost. I wish they had prepaid return labels like Club Monaco and then retain the shipping cost from the refund: I guess it would cost much less this way I would definitely shop more often their site in this case.
As for the sweater I think you are making the right decision. I liked it from all angles but the side but maybe it was due to how you stood? I think it will be a nice oversized cozy tunic for you and a great piece for our winters.
I was considering the light grey with citron yesterday but it was gone before I decided...:-(

I am clearly on Team Wear. I cut the tags and threw it on immediately over top of my PJs!! As I said, if nothing else, this will become a well-loved part of the loungewear capsule. I actually predict I will wear it a ton.

Seems like a smart decision to let go of the one sweater. Given the current circumstance, it's probably more hassle than it's worth. You never know, it may yet somehow come into your life and closet.

I have a feeling you're going to get a lot of wear from the oversized sweater, though!

I hope you can wear the new top often, I liked it styled for outside wear, but loungewear use is good too. I often save that capsule for last which is funny because it's probably the one with pieces worn most often.
