Some of you might remember I planned to experiment with dyeing a pair of cream orphan boots black.

Well, I just finished cleaning up after about half an hour and two coats of dye. I can't say for sure since the process isn't over until the boots are dry and I have buffed away the excess dye, but I'm feeling optimistic. They look really good. The metallic distressing still comes through, but they will mesh better with my wardrobe now. I did get some dye on the tiny stacked pancake heel and the hardware, but I'm operating under the assumption that those areas won't be porous enough to absorb the dye. Hopefully I'm right :p

The process was very easy. A child could do it. If you have shoes you aren't wearing anyway, I would say you might just want to give it a try. For $11 I basically have a new pair of shoes.

Yes, I will take pics tomorrow when the process is complete.
