Hello all, I was wondering if you can give me some advice on how to wear these amazing Aquatalia booties I got. I am not sure how to do it as it is a new look for my eye. Here are 2 looks, both with skinnies...I can't decide if rolled up or down is better. Also, what kind of top is best? I was thinking a floaty tunic...thank you in advance!

Cool boots! I wear my skinnies tucked into boots like that, so I prefer photo 3.
I like your idea of a floaty top. I would wear a long cardi over tee, too.

Both are nice, but I like down a little better.

I like both ways with a preference for 1/2 if it isn't too cold. As for tops, there are lots of good options, but you probably can't get far off track with a fluid top...not too fitted, not oversized. ( although those styles can work out beautifully too)

I like 1 & 2 with a blouse or light weight top, it has a warmer weather look to me. #3 is a look that I like with heavier knits.

Definitely down! For tops, try something that loose. Not floaty, but not skin hugging too!

I prefer down, since the boots have a wider ankle opening vs. being very close fitting.

Slight preference for up - love the look with socks. But when the weather gets cold, down will look great too. Great boots

As for tops, anything fluid will work well or sweaters layered over shirts.

Both work well with this type of boot. When wearing the jeans rolled up, I would go for a top that is either somewhat cropped or semi-tucked so as to lengthen the leg line (which gets cut by the rolling).

Like Kari, I prefer down. The ankle opening is bigger and looks better with jeans tucked in. Your idea of a flowy top with these boots is great! That will create some nice contrast. For cooler weather, I bet this would look great with a flowy top and a structured leather jacket as a topper.

Personally, I always cuff my jeans when I wear them with booties so I am a fan of 1/2. I don't dislike 3; it's just not my own personal style. Nice boots, by the way!

I think I prefer the cuffed just a teensy bit more, but uncuffed looks great too. I think it really might depend on what you wear on top.

This is exactly the reason my booties go unloved for the most part, I can't ever tell if I should cuff or not.

I like them both as well. My first thought was that my ankles would get cold today (it's raining in Seattle), so I think I would go by how warm it is. Great boots too!

If I had this combo to work with, I might try this option: turn the hems into the inside (once) to the height you like, and then wear a sock that's low contrast to the boots.

Maybe it's just me, but I find that pant legs tucked into low boots don't always stay where they're supposed to! And sometimes I like high-contrast cuffing and sometimes I don't.

I like cuffed. But I prefer my booties to hug my ankles, and don't like tucking into short booties because I find the hems end up being fussy when I sit and stand.

Both look good to me, with a slight preference for rolled because it's still warm enough outside to wear that way where I am Agree with CocoLion's styling suggestions re the top depending on which way you wear the jeans.

I agree that both are good, but my own preference is for up. I do see what others are saying about lengthening the leg line by shorter tops with rolled hems, but you could do a long open sweater with a shorter top or half tucked top under that shows a longer leg line. Then you could still have something long and flowy...

I like variety! I'd wear the jeans rolled for now, and tuck in when the weather requires!
