what kind of footwear do you find leas interesting? least fun to shop for?sometimes necessary, but not fun to wear?,

I am finding flats, all kinds, difficult to replace. These are hard for me to find anyhow, as slip ones fall off my feet. But sometimes it is too cold for sandals, too warm for booties, and sneakers are just not right. I have tried oxfords, loafers, and various kinds of flats. Nothing makes me happy, except cut out booties, and one very old pair of ballet flats with zippers in the back. I have 2 pairs of flats, one with laces and pointy toes, cute, comfy, but not interesting. Also a pair of nude loafer type, and some very old cut out oxfords. Not sure if I will keep any of these.Then I think they may come in handy sometime so I hang on to them. Periodically I look for something new, but never find anything.

I love shoes of all kinds but I admit I don't particularly enjoy shopping for workout shoes. They just aren't "me" but of course I need them anyway. I agree that sometimes we need shoes that are warmer than sandals but not booties. That's when I usually go for my loafers, not a huge fan of ballet flats.

Least fun to shop for are tall boots, ankle strap shoes...anything that needs to fit the ankle and/or calf. I enjoy least wearing heels, then sneakers. Sneakers often pinch the tops of my feet, something not always noticeable until I have worn them.

I love shopping for any type of shoe. I have an extreme poison eye for Mary Jane anything so I just don’t shop for those. Problem solved!

I don't like to shop for any type of gear shoe - running shoes, hiking shoes, etc. They're usually expensive and necessary, but that doesn't mean I enjoy the process.

I'll buck the trend here and say I *love* shopping for gear shoes. I like comparing specs like weight, stack height, drop, etc, and reading about innovative new materials. And I like using them! I find shopping for dress shoes pretty impossible: 99% of them look totally boring and not me, and the 1% left over rarely fits.

I would say dress shoes such as something required for a wedding, etc. Those are my least favorite because I rarely need this type of shoe and they are rarely comfortable to wear for more than a couple of hours.

Don’t enjoy looking for winter boots. They must be low heel, warm, waterproof and with good grip soles. I have very difficult feet to fit - low volume, narrow heels, bunions. Most of the boots just look awful on me, too big and unstylish or too tight in the bunions’ area. Almost an impossible task

Sometimes (i.e. half the year) necessary, but not fun to wear: SNOW BOOTS. Feh.

Also, gear running shoes. I don't mind other gear shoes as much -- hiking shoes/ boots, cross-trainers. Those are fine and kind of interesting to shop for. I just don't find shopping for runners terribly enjoyable and I don't find them fun to wear. (I don't much like running, yet I do it enough that I need the footwear.)

Difficult to shop for: Knee high boots (I'm hard to fit with shorter than average but relatively slim calves). Dressy flats (most are uncomfortable or unwearable -- won't stay on my feet and/or hurt.)

Least interesting: Hmmm. I love footwear and am interested in most styles, at least theoretically. I guess the least interesting to me are absolute flats with zero support together with very high heels -- in both cases because I wouldn't ever wear them. But even those are interesting from a social historical perspective.

Every once in a while I need to buy flattish black shoes for choral performance. They have to be reeeeeeealllyyyy comfortable because we stand for hours and hours, between the final run-through and the performance. I usually end up with orthopedic shoes that are just passable but expensive. Not fun shopping!

Vacation shoes. Something that can stand up to extreme walking, keep the feet cool or warm as needed, and yet somehow be appropriate for a nice dinner or something. Always end up with something that screams tourist.

I enjoy sifting through all shoe categories but bottom rung would maybe be performance sneakers, if I had to choose the least fun.

Least interesting for me would be uber-comfort shoes--meaning something that I could walk for hours and hours in, if need be, and that could withstand a variety of weather types (rainy, cold, hot). These types of shoes are not usually very interesting in design, and many of them are too chunky for my small frame.

I don't mind shoe shopping at all - except the cost....

Until two years ago I did not own any flat "shoes" only boots, sandals or sneakers. I found that between a lighter boot and sandals I had little need for shoes. However I would struggle without boots and sandals!!

My feet are such a problem that it usually goes feast or famine. I have learned to stop stressing about a) frequently not finding anything suitable and comfortable b) when I stumble on shoes that meet criteria I don’t freak if I have the opportunity to buy 2 or more different pair at a time.
This happened recently- trainers, sandals and dress shoes in 1 shopping find....yay. Seize the day:-)

Flip flops. Always too expensive. Always ugly and very uncomfortable looking. Cheaper ones are often impossible to try on before buying.
I need them for shower/gym/pool purposes.

I’m with texstyle....I don’t like shopping for heels/dressy shoes for occasions. They are rarely worn, rarely truly comfortable, and seem to date pretty quickly, so I feel guilty eyeing them in my closet and then getting rid of them after just one or two wears.

Loafers and pumps. Slip on shoes of any sort. Ugh! They never stay on my skinny heels. I love the look of these sorts of shoes but they don’t love me back. Sometimes I think I have found something that will work. I take them home and try wearing them around the house for a day or even two. If they pass that test, one would think they might work, but very often they do not. Once I step out my door, they inevitability end up sliding off my feet. I have given away more of these shoes than any other for faulty fit.

I also have a hard time with running shoes, so I stock up on my favorite style when I can and pray they never stop making it.

I am a shoe person and I love all shoe shopping. Seriously. Even getting fitted for new running shoes at the local running shop! I read these responses and it's like you all are from another planet.
