I've been gone, then unwell, and my new InStyle arrived with spring colors. I feel SO uninspired! I haven't seen anything that calls to me at all. At the same time, with our bizarre winter I've been wearing everything I have all the time and could use a pick-me-up/refresher. Is anyone else feeling this way? It's one of the reasons I haven't been posting WIWs. I just can't feel like I'm keeping up.

But I do miss you all and hope that more participation will bring me YLF inspiration!

We had a few nice days last week and the snow melted. I woke up monday morning to snow and wind. Total bummer. I feel your pain and discontent.

Ok, so what are the spring colors according to Instyle? As the weather warms and you feel better everything may seem more appealing.

Dianthus, we've actually had no snow! I've not had a chance to wear my true winter clothing much, and now I won't as we head into spring. Thanks for the consolation!

Sorry to hear you are feeling a bit blah...late winter can be like that especially since I know you have been unwell and had a bereavement to deal with.

I have these patches too, and I don't know what pulls me out, sometimes a new purchase, sometimes just wearing my favourite looks all the time. Sometimes I have a couple of weeks where I decide to wear things I rarely pull for, and I discover some hidden gems.

Our winter has been bizarrely cold and long. And now for something different, tonight it's supposed to ...snow. Everything here is brown or gray and there are no flowers in sight! It's very depressing and I'm sick and tired of wearing my winter clothes. I took a huge chance today and wore white, luckily I didn't get any of the mud and slush on anything.
It's good to see you here again, but I'm sorry you haven't been well. Maybe just adding some spring colors into your outfits will help cheer you up a bit?

We've had a rather harsh winter so I'm looking forward to breaking out the spring wardrobe, but I can see how that would be much less exciting without the seasonal distinction. I feel this spring has a lot of pastel colors, which don't seem like your cup of tea, so that can't be helping. No advice but I hope things start looking up soon!

I haven't gone out into the stores to shop for spring yet (crazy, I know), and have only purchased two things for spring so far: faux leather cropped pants (wild card!) and a blue mixed-print tee. I did try to buy some flats, but they only sent me one shoe and now they're sold out *sniff* There seems to be such a broad variety of styles available this spring though, I'm surprised you haven't found anything calling.

Either way, post some outfits anyway! I bet they're better than you're thinking And I vote lets try to find you a refresher. Even if it's just an alternate of something that you've been wearing a lot of, so that you have a new thing to wear a lot of.

Plus, Una, InStyle tends to run really bright color-y and runway-y. Neither of those exactly suits your vibe. It's no wonder that the spring issues are not inspirational. Maybe look through some of Angie's blog posts. Think of your perfect cotton/silk simple and oversized sweater in a darker blue that you favor, some white boyfriend jeans with pockets deep enough for your phone and ID, and some sandals with a lot of leather.

Our weather in Seattle has been crazy good (if you like dry and warm weather that is). We had cherry blossoms blooming in January. I know there will be payback time, but for now, I'm soaking up what we can.

I can totally relate. To top it off, I'm feeling heavy and flabby, even though I only think I have a little extra winter weight on me.

It was a leap for me today to actually wear Gap flare jeans, the floral sweater with a white collared shirt underneath, and cowboy boots. So basic, but a huge step up from what I've been wearing for the last month. I suppose I'll find my fashion mojo again eventually! Good luck with yours!

Forum participation and posting WIWs did help me to a great extent after the 3 month hiatus. But I am still a bit uninspired. Not because I have nothing to wear, but because life has been a bit stressful lately. I find I am the most inspired when I have a clear mind. I know you have a stressful job ... wondering if you have been more stressed lately? The winter woes don't help either

I've missed you and wondered if you had gone to Hawaii to escape the winter gloom. The late winter doldrums are the worst. We had more snow yesterday, actually more like small snow balls. I so did not want to pull out the puffer and boots. What helps me most is feeling good about my body. Have you been able to get to the gym or outside for a daily walk?

Thanks ladies! I forgot how uplifting it is just to hear from all of you! Sadly my health issue which is being sorted out is causing fatigue, so I can barely do more than drag myself to work. Hawaii was lovely, but back here I am cold, stiff and grouchy as well as sleepy.

Aida, I love the faux leather crops! Didn't Jackie get those as well?

Sounds like I'm not alone in my blues. You all have great suggestions and I'm sure something will come along to perk me up. My citron Converse sneakers were so much fun to wear in Hawaii.

I was just trying to figure out what to wear tomorrow. The weather is so topsy turvy, it's been hard to pull it together. It was 85 degrees here today!! Crazy talk. What about my puffers? I'm not in the mood for no crazy talk 80 degree weather. This is Northern Ca. I expect to be freezing and depressed by grey skies at this time of year. Rant rant rant...

It sounds as if you are suffering from the winter doldrums, and no wonder with your prolonged cold weather, plus feeling unwell and fatigued. It's really difficult to feel inspired when you're feeling like that. Give it a while longer, and I'm sure you will find something that speaks to you.

I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling feel. We've had the strangest of winters, too, so I completely get you. It isn't right.

I can easily imagine you in the citron Chucks with slim ankle pants or leggings and one of those great tunics of yours. Top it off with a sharp blazer and maybe a pair of great earrings, and you have the spring outfit you need right now

Glad you are back, albeit in not quite your usual fashion. Pun sort-of-intended. Sorry to hear your health hasn't been great - and hope it's being sorted out . Just go with the flow and ride out the blahs - they'll end soon enough. Read a novel, drink some tea, do some yoga, or something more hardcore, and just enjoy the mental break. xo

Been missing you too Una - but I understand. I've been sick a good part of this new year so far. When I don't feel well I tend to reach for the comfiest clothing I have without giving a lot of thought to the outfit. I do have a little inspiration for spring (hoping I'll be feeling much better soon) and have picked up one tank and a pair of sandals over the past few weeks and just ordered some shorts to try.

What could you really use for summer? I've been kind of focusing/obsessing over a bracelet of all things. I do love bracelets in summer and the one I want is just over the price range I like to pay. Funny thing is, I'm not even sure how much of my wardrobe it would go with, but sometimes I just get my mind set on something.

Lots of company I think! I usually feel this way mid-summer. I just give up and don't care what I look like.

I haven't been posting either...just feeling like I've got nothing much to say or show. I think we all just go through phases...and come out the other side. Usually renewed and happy...we just have to wait for it, grrr!

I feel you AG- no snow in MN this year either, this bizarre weather leaves me glum, sweat pants clad, and home bound with little energy for caring about fashion. I do blame it on the weather, I like the contrast of four real seasons!

Today I'm allowing myself a good old fashioned wallow at home with Netflix and sweats. Tomorrow, 60F and pontoon boat shopping should lift my spirits! Maybe I'll dress up

I hear you! I am not finding my colors or fabrics somehow, to build new spring outfits with existing items. Too much red, coral and blue. Need to be PPP. But at least I still really like a lot of neutral items I got last summer. Just was trying to add some more happy color.

I'm with you. Feeling uninspired but those vegan cropped pants are pretty hot. Trying to ride it out and maybe plan a day trip. I'm also trying to meet up with some friends that I haven't seen for while. Hope you get your mojo back and know that you're not alone. I've really miss seeing your WIW posts.

Una - so sorry to hear you are under the weather (literally and figuratively). When you're tired and don't feel well everything looks bleak especially when you have no strength or reserves. Plus this awful muddy, cold, overcast - it must feel impossible to imagine feeling good again. I'm sure when health and vitality are restored everything will be brighter. Unfortunately you've just got to slog your way through it. What is not too tiring that you enjoy? Books, movies, crafts anything that would be a little pick me up - not necessarily clothes? (PS I usually end up on the Jane Austen marathon but that's me!!) Anyway sending big cyber hugs for being well soon!!
