Ladywone brought up some really good questions on my recent WIW thread about pieces in my limited wardrobe. It got me thinking of my biggest wardrobe workhorses. In many blogs or different style articles or forum threads I read, it's usually a well cut jacket, pant or an LBD, usually in a neutral colour that takes you from work to casual to formal. In my case, my biggest wardrobe workhorses are my jackets (primarily neutrals except for a cobalt one) and unexpectedly, my bold graphic jersey dresses.

I can easily change the vibe of these jersey dresses with the right topper, shoes and accessories. So far I've worn them (with my doc martens) in a casual work environment, job interviews (monochrome + blazer) and weddings (sparkly jewelry/shoes)

I'm thinking of having a predominantly jersey dress and jacket wardrobe, save some jeans/shorts/tops for very laid back weekends. I bat for Team Dressy, so the dresses will likely get a lot of wear.

Over to you: do you have an unusual wardrobe workhorse? Why is it a workhorse?
