Unexpected shoe workhorse...

These Allsaints slip on loafers have become an unexpected workhorse. They are easy to wear and have he edge I want but the practicality of a black shoe. I just hope the soles hold up as they seem a bit flimsy for the price! Anna mentioned that her boots fell apart...

Those are amazing!

Could you have a cobbler resole them? I had a pair of BCBG boots resoled, and all in, it was less than $50.

Glad those are working out for you! I love workhorses like that -- practical slip-ons with an edge. Hope you can get the sole thing worked out!

Fab shoes!! Can you be proactive and take them to a shoemaker to see if putting an extra sole on the bottom would help keep them in prime shape? Also, I know you'll hate me but is duplication a thought? Great shoes are hard to find!!

Haha! Gryffin! I like these but I will not perish if they disintegrate (after appropriate CPW!). That is my new standard for duplicating. And on that note I am keeping the second pair of Rag & Bone pants. I had a panic attack a la Linus Van Pelt when they were in the wash yesterday!

Maybe a cobbler can resolve these beauties for you before they wear out. They look worth it.

you chosen a winning pair!
I do agree with gryffin and Joy, though- get a protective rubber sole and it will add months of wear to a shoe! Do I sound like your mother yet....?

my cobbler has installed a thin rubber grippy that is hardly noticeable on several pair of thinner soled leather shoes and the heel as well. If the sole is black no one will ever see it and as an added bonus you'll get to dart around like a super hero!! -

Una - totally applaud keeping the pj's!! Just sounded like these would be a long term love and having the "spare" allows you to really enjoy them without thoughts of rationing or making them precious!! Otoh, I really think the soles are worth the bother, but you know best!!

Those are great! Edgy but classic and versatile.

I just finally bought the Allsaints Keiko boots that I wanted last fall. I'm really excited to get them (Friday, I think). I wonder if they're the ones Anna had bad luck with. :-/ But seeing your loafers makes me wonder if I should have gotten shoes, not boots.

They are comfy enough if I'm at work and not walking miles. Not good for endless city walking situations though as they eventually bother my Achilles (probably as my feet swell over the day).
