So while my friend and I were in Yakima, Washington for the weekend we were wandering around the Historic Front Street area looking for something to do. It's basically a two block area by the old train station that they appear to be trying to promote as an interesting area. I don't know how successful it is because there were more than a few empty store fronts. It is also right next to the hulking county jail.
We stumbled across a local fashion show event. We only watched for a bit. The models appeared to be locals judging by the loud and enthusiastic cheering. I think the fashion was provided by local stores.
ETA Yakima is a small city, less than 100,000.
