So this first outfit shouldn't work. Brown and beige generally look terrible near my face, and horizontal stripes on a big busted fat lady are a big no-no, as is chunky knit-wear and short sleeves that chop up my hammy arms. Yet I always get compliments when I wear this top.
The second outfit should be fabulous. I look great in purple, the 3/4 length sleeves are usually a good length for me, and the horizontal ribbing should be slimming. Instead I look like a great lumpy lumpasaurus and the color is reflecting off my face in a most unpleasant way.
These photos were taken 2 days apart, and I'm wearing the same jeans, so we're definitely comparing apples to apples here. That fuchsia sweater is in the donate pile, and the brownish one stays.
