"unavailable" items--what are the odds?

Probably discontinued, but the message is that the item is currently available. Yesterday while (ahem) browsing the Nordstrom site, I fell in love with this blouse from back in March. A salesperson in Nordstrom's live chat only advised me to keep checking back periodically. I figure I'll never see this item offered again, but has anyone had the experience of something actually reappearing?

(Yes, I know technically it could show up on ebay...but the product name is so generic--"silk tie blouse" or something like that--that stalking it would be a major hassle. So I'm letting it go...... : (

Great looking blouse. In answer to your question, yes...twice in the last week. Both at Nordstroms. The Nike crops I bought a couple weeks ago in black were something I wanted to duplicate. The only other color showing was a very light gray that I didn't like. Three days ago when I went in to look at that gray one more time, they had pink! One pair. My size. Ordered! The other is the KUT dark wash skinny jeans. My size was there, so I ordered. Then I got the cancellation email because they had sold out. The next day, I ordered two other sizes to try (with little hope). Yesterday I checked again, and my size was back! Ordered...no cancellation email yet.

So, I say that even though it may not be worth stalking on ebay, etc, it could be worth stalking at Nordstrom. With Nordstrom's return policy, any of the original stock could come back anytime!

What carter said. Also, have you checked on the Nordstrom rack site? Sometimes sale items get shifted over there.

Oh, that's a brilliant idea, Diana! Thanks to both of you. The blouse is so pirate-y and romantic, and I get fixated on certain items (it's one of my many frustrations with shopping). I will make a trip to the Rack...I've got tons of things to return anyway : )

It's gorgeous. Diana expressed what I was thinking--worth keeping an eye on Nordstrom Rack site as well as Nordstrom. At this point (if you saw it in March), it's more likely to show back up at the Rack.
Also, Classiques tends to offer some styles year after year. So the style may show up in another fabric that you like.

Keep in mind that the B&M Rack and the online don't have all the same items though. Even between B & M stores the inventory can differ wildly, so if you really want it, it helps to try all options. You don't say what brand it is, but that would be helpful to know because some brands show up with full size runs at the Rack and some only in a few stragglers.

I think I saw AG post recently that something appeared a year later for her so don't lose all hope. Crossing fingers you find it at Rack.

For brands other than Nordstrom, you can check shopsyle.com. Their site comber collects items from 6pm, Off Fifth, Bluely, Sierra Trading Post, Zappos, Yoox, the Rack, LOFT and probably other sites that offer past season's items. I've also googled by the name of the item and select "Images" as the result. If you see the item, 50% chance it is at a retailer.

Classiques Entier is Nordstrom's house brand, annabelle. Those are good suggestions in general, though. This week I will stop by the Rack and see if I have any luck, maybe even talk in person to a sales associate. Thanks for all the ideas!
