My head is spinning with all this coolness!

Please help with:
- Colors... do either of these colors work? None? Both?

- Would charcoal be better?

- Size... The oatmeal is XS, the copper is S

- Flattery - too much attention to the hips? I didn't think so at first, but I want to cover my bases since Janet mentioned it might not work for hourglasses.

- Work possibilities - I'm pretty convinced it looks like a normal, unassuming layering sweater when tucked in. Probably won't fly untucked, but I kind of like that the UWP sweater has a secret identity!

Also pictured: the replacement Apepazza shearling boots. They came super fast!

I too like the copper color for you (though I DO actually like the lightness of the oatmeal better, just not that particular shade). Look at your fun hair in #2/3! Hmmmm I am undecided on the size though. I think I like the looser fit as a more casual top but the smaller size is more figure-showing so I am leaning towards smaller. I don't see any hip overemphasis.

The copper color is the most flattering! I love this sweater, especially paired with the skinnies. I don't think it draws too much attention to the hip area. Looks good.

Love the copper on you! I might like the XS a bit better, but I like the width of the front panel in the S better. (I realize I'm nit-picking and making this difficult :-\ it's in my nature!)

I like the size xs, and I actually like both colours, but the copper is more unusual.

Hm, pretty big wrench in the machine is that Hubs really, really hates the look. Like, really really. And he's almost always around when I'm casually dressed.

Ugh, what to do? Forget it, or keep *one* to wear secretly when I'm just out with the girls?

Rae, given this new info I would return. If you got it at the swap meet I would say keep, but given how quickly you go through clothes and your usual budget system, this doesn't seem worth holding on to, even if it's on a great sale. You can buy something just as versatile (or more) that hubby loves for the same money!

Kate, hubs and I are in negotiations for me to keep the copper one. When we dissected it, the overall look of sweater, skinnies, and boots was too much for him. We tried it on with some slim bootcuts, and he did not mind it as much. It is still not his favorite, though.

The other thing is that I've really been looking for knit tops to wear under blazers. This one is a color I like, and it can transform into something funky, so I don't feel like I'm "wasting" money on boring work clothes....

A truce may be close. Bah, I didn't think this was going to be a hard decision!

OMG, the copper looks fab on you, Rae. And the sweater looks amazing! UWP sisters! I would do the copper over the grey for sure. I got you the grey in the small. I don't see a huge difference between small and XS on you. Let me know if you do want it; otherwise I'll return it tomorrow.

I'm amazed your husband has such a strong opinion, but since he does, I'd continue to work on it. It is rare for my husband to tell me he dislikes something, and I'm not sure what I'd do if he did. This is so very much your style that it truly surprises me he would not love it on you.

Another vote for the copper, but I prefer the S to the XS. It looks GREAT!

I get that hubs isn't into the look. Boys can get bees in their bonnets about styles that we think look great. My hubs is the same. I guess it really depends on you, Rae. Sleep on it.

I love the copper and what I don't like about the oatmeal is the size - the front flap falls like a loincloth. Good for a warrior, I guess.

I love the copper on you Rae. The oatmeal is also pretty but the copper is just more wow .

I really really love pic 8 with the skirt. That one is killer. It looks great under the suits too.

Hope you don't have too much trouble with this tough decision.

I would never have thought to tuck that sweater in but what a great idea. It looks really funky out but demure when tucked. Should be a great addition to your work wardrobe that plays well too.

haha, I love MaryK's strategy, which is probably what I'd do in that situation; however, I do understand what a downer a partner's rejection of a certain look can be and if that makes you less happy with the sweater, then returning it may be the better plan.

I think the copper looks best on you. I don't see why you would tuck it - that much fabric tucked would annoy me. I understand your DH's reservations. It's not a look for everyone. It's not that it's unflattering, I just don't particularly like the hem (a little loincloth-like for me) and it's a personal preference.

Seems like the copper will be staying! I will be taking Angie's size advice and staying in the small as well. As much as I like the sweater, I think it would be a shame not to keep it - hubs also objected to skinny jeans when I first tried them, so maybe he will come around someday.
