Um... K/R: white TR Camerons - YouLookFab Forum

You can say I'm a fashion romantic, I guess... when a few ebay items sold and these came up in my saved search within a day of one another, I thought it might be a sign. And since it's an even exchange for other stuff in my wardrobe, still allowed under my weird personal terms of SYC (got a really good deal!). They are a size down from my current ones, but I went for it because the measurements I'd found were the same. There was no 27 in this color/fabric.

These tick off a lot of my Imaginary Perfect White Jeans boxes - 100% cotton, thick fabric, loose-but-still-slim fit, off white... but the burning question is: how do they look? My main concern is probably the dreaded crotch area - too much fold? plum-smuggling potential? All in all, I think they will fit the same after the fabric relaxes/stretches, but the whiskering on my blue ones disguises it better.

WDYT? I admit I've had a bad relationship with white jeans in the past, so I'm not the best judge right now. I have 14 days to return.

I have a love/hate relationship with most white jeans, too, but I really like these on you. I'd keep them.

You have a lot of success with ebay. Have you ever done a blog post on how you use it? I think there's a lot to learn there for me, in terms of reselling some of my older items (many NWTs) to fund new wants.

Soooooo AWKWARD! I had to blow this up really big and look to see what was going on with the crotch. (The stitching). That was a little distracting in the photo. Not so much IRL, right?

I've noticed that crotch issues seem to show up much more strongly in photographs than IRL. The creasing seems a little odd to me, but not enough that I can't get over it. I'm pretty sure it isn't there to the same degree outside photo-land.

So, cautious "keep" rating?

Ok...so obviously it's kinda weird to stare at your crotch....but I don't see any evidence of plum smuggling here. I think they look great on you Rae. And that's fab shopping math!

Haha, K! I hear you, I have felt awkward myself as I stare at Pinterest crotches to compare. It seems that most white jeans have some degree of creasing.

I much prefer the blue ones on you, but if you have basically paid for them already and love these ones, then keep them!

Your pintrest link was great. I've noticed that my white jeans are a tad challenging to photograph too, even though they look very nice in person. The photographs intensify creases and unevenness. Not quite as badly as khaki pants (Shaking fist at sky: I'll get you for this khaki pants!!!), fortunately.

Upgrading to full on keep rating!

I think they look great. And it sounds like they're just what you're looking for. I vote yay. If you're having doubts, why not try them on daily for a few days? You have 14 days to return, so you can take some of that time to decide, just to erase any lingering doubts.

I'm a spanner - in the pics the crotch is definitely a bit baggy, plus they've got that white-jean-gets-more-opaque-where-the-pockets-are effect. This may not be as noticable IRL.

I prefer the fit of the blue, and wish the white were the same size! They look quite tight on your calf - no?

I'd give these an 8 and your blue a 10. I like these, but I LOVE your blue version.

Ooh, tough decision with an 8 rating.... this is what happens when I wait to try something until all the sizes are sold out. Hmmm... they aren't tight on my calves, but not as baggy as the blue, either. Same in the hips.

Firecracker, that may be a good idea. They can loosen up, and I can mull over the fit some more.

I think they look nice, but I like the blue ones better. Not sure if the price tag on these can justify Angie's 8 or if you want to settle for an 8 when you could have a 9 or 10,

Rae - the crotch area isn't bothering me so much as the calf area - where, IMHO, they look just a little too tight. Maybe its because your blue ones are just so fabulous that these are not exciting me all that much. Or, it could be that I am a bit of a phobic when it comes to white jeans/trousers - BUT, if I were to ever get a pair of white jeans, these are the kind I would try! (Its just the fit in the calf that seems a little "off.")

But, probably not enough "off" to return them! (how's that for mixed messages?)

Touching on one of the comments in Angie's Space Angel post, I noticed I feel differently about these in every room of the apartment. The bedroom fluorescent lights make them look pretty hideous, but the warm living room lights look great. The natural light pics look good, but the flash pics make me wrinkle my nose. How funny!

I finally broke down and asked DH, figuring he'd reject them right away... but he says they are "better than some of those other jeans you've been wearing, but still not as good as your old ones." Meaning the SBFs versus bootcut jeans (his fave, which I wore for him today).

I'm still on the fence - too much info to process for one night. Thanks SO much for the continued responses - they are invaluable!

Rae I think they look good. Wear them a bit at home and see how/if they stretch out. If you are not completely happy return and wait for your perfect fit. You look great in the white btw.

Rae, if you are still on the fence, then return them. They aren't making your heart sing. They need to go back. (You can still love them from afar when Suz gets her pair. We'll just gang up on her until she breaks down and orders them.)
