I had re-ordered these boots in a larger size, and they arrived from Amazon today... what the heck?? They were a super dark brown out of the box, and then when I put them on and started walking, these SUPER high-contrast creases appeared. It looks terrible! I kind of suspect someone tried to "improve" them with shoe polish then changed their minds and returned them. The boot even gets lighter when I touch it with my fingers.
ETA: Pic 3 is the first pair I ordered, which was too small. The distressing is still there, but much less harsh and lower contrast.
I've been waiting for these for so long, and the fit is perfect... Sigh. Should I try rubbing them with a rag to see if it evens out?
