Ugh, holiday casual help.

I have an event tonight--holiday casual. I'd like to look a little festive but not OTT (as if, lol.) I'm tired and feeling unenthusiastic about any of these. Which do you prefer or should I go back to the drawing board? TIA. (yawn.) Sorry but I'm boring myself....blazer, vest, neither?

These are all really nice! While the plaid has holiday flair, I'm partial to either of the vest combinations. I really like the tall boots.

You look great in all four outfits, Kelly. My favourite for your casual holliday do is four, because the vest feels a little more "special" and the colour works really well with your teal jeans. What kind of bag were you thinking of? Perhaps a clutch? I was thinking you could also add a cuff bracelet for a bit of festive bling.

I like 4 too -- I admit I have a poison eye for long pelt vests but this works!

I was looking at each outfit nodding "yes"...."yes".....and then I got to the last one and went "oh yeah"!!! I like the colour of the pants with the black top. And the fur vest is a fun topper. Like Inge, I like the idea of a clutch and a bit of bling to "ooomph" it up a bit!

Is the black sweater sparkly? I think you need something light-colored in the outfit - a pair of metallic pumps?

ETA: After thinking on it, perhaps I will swap the black booties for metallic bronze.

I love this with the fur vest. It feels festive and fun.

And Kelly, I totally feel your pain. I am trying to come up with a "sort of" festive outfit to wear for a performance in a dive tomorrow night, and then to dinner with friends. And it's going to be raining. Yeah, I am having fun shopping my closet. NOT!!

Kelly, I'm with the group in loving #4 (although you look so good in every shot!). I think the teal jeans with the fur vest has a snappy holiday casual vibe. Adding bling in the form of a cuff, metallic wristlet/clutch or shoes is another alternative. Have fun and take boring out of your vocabulary.

Thanks for chiming in, Una, Suz and Vicki. I love the idea of dressing up but I always feel that I fall short in the execution. It doesn't help that I'm tired and feeling a bit stressed--makes me want to just stay home and wear lounge wear! I tried the metallic boots and think I will just swap those with the black booties. I'm tempted to wear blue skinnies (safer) instead of the green but I think I'm going to throw caution to the wind and go with #4 and an elf hat! Thanks again!

I like 4 too.

I also like the clean lines of #3 on you--add informal but sparkly or colorful bracelets or earrings and clutch and that's another look you can use for an informal party.

#1 is my fave. i'm not feeling the vest for a holiday party, also aren't you going to overheat? need something shiny to make it festive. do you have a sequinned tee that you can put under the jacket?

I definitely hear you on the staying home and lounging! But I do like outfit 4, with the teal pants for sure. Metallic boots will be great to add some sparkle. Hope you have fun tonight!

Yes, 4! Love all your variations, Kelly, but 4 seems a little more festive! You sure know how to rock the furry vest, so much fun. The metallic boots sound perfect but the black boots look great! Some fun and shiny bangles and perhaps some earrings that compliment and you are good to go. IKWYM about the stress and desire to kick back in lounge wear! Have fun and a glass or two of wine for me!
