UGGs with a different look: any better?

Thank you all so much for the feedback on the other thread - I appreciate comments from those who don't like them because I know it's hard to post that kind of opinion.

I don't think these are quite as bulbous as my close-ups - not as much so as Docs, for example. Here's a different outfit attempt. Does this change any opinions? Am changing into the Gidigios for the day...

I LOVE the style of the UGGS for you. In that respect they are KILLER. I do worry about the colours for your style. Didn't they come in a blue too?

Una, do you have the link to the blue ones? And you need brown boots, right? I just looked at the stock photo from Bloomies, and yes, I knew I had liked them when you first posted about them.... I'm so conflicted. I think these just don't photograph well.
I feel like i'm reliving the Burberry saga LOL.

I still am not loving them. I think if the shaft was a similar colour to the foot and straps (as in the blue) I would like them more!

I still love them but I'm not sure the color is playing nicely with that jacket.

I like them better styled this way than the other, but they still don't feel Una enough to me. I guess I keep comparing them to the Gidiglios and think I should like these as much as those. My biggest concern is 6 months or so out these will become orphans. I would be more willing to chance that on a non-investment piece.

I think they would look perfect with the Gap slouchy sweater and jeans (and that sort of look) but not convinced they will go equally with dresses and more "office" type wear. I like them but they lean more rustic UWP than I normally see you in. If you need something like that and love them enough then by all means, rock em.

These boots are gorgeous. To me this seems off because, like Mary K. said, they aren't playing nice with the color of the jacket (or top). These boots are very much in the warm tones color family and your top half is firmly on the cool side. If you tend to favor the 'cool' colors, you will find it challenging to style these boots.

Still not loving them, Una. I think it's the color, they just don't seem like you or UWP in that color. FWIW, when I said the toe shape looked "sensible" I think the brown color has something to do with that in addition to the bulbous shape, becausein my head "sensible, sturdy" shoes are always brown for some reason.

I'm now convinced that for me, the issue is the color combination. I like the blue/grey version much more.

I'm with Janet, AG. It's the contrast of the pale brown with the light brown/gold. To my eye it is too busy.

However, like I said before, if YOU love them, then keep them. Sometimes comfort and use and pure gut feeling trumps other people's opinions, you know?

I like the boots tucked into the skinnies and think that if they fill a wardrobe hole for you (you mentioned you needed brown boots) than you should keep. I'm assuming you have outfits planned for brown boots and you will get a lot of use out of them as they are so comfy.

I admit even I liked the blue-green immensely, and slightly more than these, though I can definitely see the attraction of the gold/brown (but then, I'm 'earthy' myself, heh! yet prefer blues & greens for myself, so it's confusing).

However, you did SAY you *need* brown boots, so these are filling a hole, right? What precisely did you want the brown boots to do/go with? Are these doing the job?

And I definitely like them better with the jeans tucked away inside. I think the kind of seaming they have needs to be fully visible, uninterrupted, for impact. Otherwise the lines get ruined.

I still love them. I liked them with the other outfit better--this jacket is coming off as too olive-y for the boots and a little too refined (IMHO.) I love the color--I've found that brown boots are extremely versatile for me. I wear them instead of black when I want a less "heavy" look--is that how you plan to wear them?

I quite like to throw in one accessory in the opposite temperature. So I like the khaki top and the more caramel boots.

Thanks again! I seriously considered the blue/green for the cool and gorgeous factor, but I really could not think of how I would style them. Plus they were not on sale. And they were so pretty I'd worry about ruining them. I love the ruggedness of the brown and the buckle/zip of the boot and the military medieval look. I am feeling really pulled toward military looks lately.

Poor Zap! I wonder if these items would be less difficult if they cost less...

Haha, no I'm good and not serious at all. If you love them, keep them.
I think I feel a greater degree of "feedback responsibility" when someone tells me something is pricey, I swear....

I've refrained from commenting because I don't personally like them. I find it hard to put on the objective stylist hat and consider them for you. It's mostly the color . . . but you say you need brown. I have cognac boots with a mostly cool toned wardrobe so I get that part. If you love them, keep them!

I love the boots in the blue but not so much in the brown - so disclosure out of the way.

What Angie said. Why do you need brown boots Una? Is there another colour that would work as well with the military look?

I just have this feeling that you could do better and given that they are expensive maybe leave them? I'm quite new here so I hope I am not out of line with this comment.
I have loved the previous outfits I've seen you post, this one not as much.

In the end I always ask myself if I love them and want to wear them tonight?? If not I have a serious talk to myself.

I remember the inky blue ones being this exquisite color. I know you're fixated on brown boots (Mochi said, somewhat jokingly) but these are not quite doing it for me either. Yet as Angie says, the style itself seems workable.

I'm afraid I'm with Angie and the rest on these boots; I love the style but not this particular color combination.

Something that I've recognized in my own shopping behavior is that some items can trigger an image of my wearing the item as part of a fantasy role that I'd love to inhabit for a while--usually something quite far away from my more mundane everyday life. So my question is: Do you love the boots as they are or do you love the role you can play when you wear them? Either can be a valid reason for keeping something, but I've found that thinking about the item this way can help me understand why I want to own it.

I do like these! I like both the outfits you posted actually.

Although I do still think the blue would be even better - to wear with any shade of blue, gray, or black bottoms. I think I prefer the blue because there is less of a contrast between the two types of material.
