typical 'blogger look' influence?

I've had booties on my list since last fall and am determined to find them this fall. Early this year I decided I wanted to add an anorak to that. I can't really put my finger on why the anorak (I'm moving away from cargo and military styles lately if anything) and then I realized I might be being unduly influenced by the stereotypical casual cool blogger look! Not sure if I should be mildly horrified that I'm that suggestible LOL or just embrace it. Ha!
First the booties I'd love to get, but over 3" would make them less useful for my day to day life. Option 2 is much more lifestyle appropriate. Do they still imbue the 'look'?
And for the anorak I'm dying for a blue with leather sleeves but just can. not. find. one. This is the closest I found. Mind you, this is all pre scouting for fall, so maybe blue will pop up by then (fingers crossed). But come fall will I find that I feel like a poor copycat of last season? Maybe it's because I didn't get to play with it this last season that I have the itch?

Honestly, I would wait for fall for both pieces. I think there will be a lot more blue available, and a lot more booties and anaoraks around period. I would start looking in July/August as this seems to be when the fall pieces start coming out.

Oh, I can't buy NOW (Just say no June and all) but I do always keep my antennae out. I guess I'm asking if these look like good buys for me and my style. Of course, sometimes looking ahead, out of season, it's harder to grasp how/where you will wear things. Another reason in-season shopping can be wiser.

I hear you on wondering if you are drinking the blogger Koolaid, Mo, but really -- what is not to love about that look????? Don't beat yourself up. I would wear that outfit in an instant, blogger-fashion or not. I do think these look like great buys for your style and I guess I would say, if you come across them, jump. I am going to need a new pair of tan/buff low heeled suede booties this fall and so I will be on the lookout too. Probably along with half the world.

By fall the cool blogger look may be something else completely,something that may work even better for you, although I definitely can see you in an anorak. The fact that I see sooo many anoraks makes me think that something else will be the trend soon or the look will morph into something a little different like a cocoon or round shouldered look.

Joy, you may be right about moving on from the look by then. I also have to remember I have a closet of fall/winter stuff in CA awaiting me that will feel like a new wardrobe after being away from it. But booties are necessary. I found last year they were a gaping wardrobe hole with my skinnies.

Ok...well I absolutely LOVE the jacket in your pic with the green wool and leather sleeves. I can totally see you in this. We know you look fab in mossy and olive greens and the style would work well for you IMHO. I like the booties too - of course I'd be going for the flatter "can walk all day" ones but I know you can handle more of a heel.

As for whether of not you'd be blogger copying - maybe. But everyone puts their own spin on an outfit don't you think?

I like the jacket. I think you can find a pair of lower-heeled booties without going all the way to a block heel. I'd hold out. Will you be in FL over winter? I'd consider peep-toe booties in that case.

There were some very cute Frye Reina booties that I saw online at Nordies and elsewhere, with a nice mid heel. <http://www.thefryecompany.com/.....?color=BLK> I thought, no, you're out of your mind to buy booties now when you just started enjoying the sandal season. Then, I got a Note and thought I might spend it so went back and looked again. Oddly enough, all of the booties in the style I liked (smooth leather, black heel) are sold out everywhere. So I guess a lot of people are drinking the fall Koolaid. I figure that they if these boots such a good seller, they will be restocked and maybe even go on sale by the time October or so rolls around.

I'm not sure if it was blogger influence or what - but I bought an olive green anorak this spring. I wore it a little - it got warm too fast for much wear, but I'm planning on wearing it this fall. I don't think I'll be tired of the trend and it will go with lots of my weekend casual outfits. I think you need to ask yourself if the jacket and boots will work for your daily life. I don't see any problems with getting inspiration from fashion bloggers as long as you will wear the clothes/style.

You know what? I'm kind of wondering if heel heights might come down a bit in booties in coming seasons. Maybe I'm totally wrong, but lower heel heights seem to be trending, and the reign of the gigantic platform seems to be over. Let's see what fall brings!

Mo, I don't see anything wrong with taking inspiration from bloggers when they have a look that you like. That's what many of us are here on YLF to do (I think). Seems like an Anorak is pretty classic so there will almost certainly be more available heading into the fall season. I think blue would be great and hope retailers will provide options. The second boots look like a good style. It's great to have a plan in place so you are sure to find the right pieces.

I have an anorak and wear it with camel booties a lot - with boyfriend, straight and skinny jeans in blue and black. It really works for my lifestyle - except for this week when in NZ it will NOT stop raining....suede booties staying in the wardrobe....

I know the anorak look is totally blogger trendy right now, but it's such a practical piece of clothing - I can't believe I don't already have 3. I've been looking for a blue one as well ... scarcer than hen's teeth, eh? (Especially in plus sizes.)
