Two unrelated questions

1. Is "double" leather a faux pas? Once I get back my cream leather jacket from alterations, would it be wrong to wear it with my cream leather handbag?

2. What do you think of this shape/style of dress for my body?http://www.gapcanada.ca/browse.....=351516013. I would add a belt for waist definition. It is the slightly flared skirt that is attracting me...well that, and the bold print to be honest!

I don't think a bag counts as double leather?

I like the shape of the dress, but it looks short - maybe not on us, though!

I don't count bags as most of the time you don't have it on you. I think double leather is for clothing and shoes only.

The dress is cute, but short! I am so annoyed at all the mid-thigh dresses and skirts this year. I do not want to wear things that are mid-thigh!

I was thinking the same about the bag... now leather pants would be too much IMO!

As for the dress, I'd be wary of those elastic waists. You have a petite waist and a higher hip, so you may have the same issue I have with them in that the "poofs" above the waist create the illusion of one big, square brick a the waistline.

Agree with Rae, I can't wear this elastic waist style at all, even with a belt - I just look like a belted sack of flour. But you are better at waist definition than me.

Ok...so the leather jacket with leather handbag is fine.

The dress...it does look short but I'm guessing on my ridiculously short legs, it would probably come closer to my knee.

Rae - excellent point about the waist. If I'm looking for a bit of a flared skirt, maybe better with a fit-n-flare style? A brick really isn't quite the look I'm going for - lol!

I have tried a few versions of this dress and haven't managed to make the waist work for me despite the repeat trying. I am not very tall and am not an hourglass. I think it is worth a try - none of them have been too short for me

As for the bag, it all depends on how well the colours mesh.

1) Well I have no problem wearing multiple leather items, I mix leathers in outfits all the time (jacket/boots/purse, jacket/purse, purse/shoes, etc.). I think that your pieces are all on the sophisticated side so you'll be just fine there, especially if you are talking about just jacket/purse.

2) The dress looks similar to the ON zigzag dress. If you felt that one worked for you, then this one is worth a try too

Great point Aida! I did think that dress worked, as long as I wore a belt. I did end up donating it but that was because I didn't like the way it fit me in the shoulders and chest area but had no issues with the waist.

I have never even thought about the double leather issue so I don't see an issue. Considering I only wear leather for bags and shoes, I am bound to strike myself out if I wear a leather jacket. I really don't see a problem here.

The dress can work depending on where the waist hits you.
