It is a drapey twill, Rachy. Here's the link:

There was another vest but that is definitely going back.

Well I'm late to the party but I like it. First I love menswear. I could not see the detail well until you lnked to nordies. It looks like a tuxedo vest or sleeveless jacket. BTW, I own one, it was the year JCrew was big into tux's I bought the jacket and the vest. I love formal wear. So I think it looks great and totally run and I can see you juxtaposing that in all kinds of interesting ways. But you have to feel good in it!!

Well, I like it. It looks way better on you than the model (where I think it looks too short). Seems maybe a little slinky? I'm looking at Angie's pick, which I think is interesting. It does make me think about whether or not you're "staying on message" with this vest. I think you look really great in these kinds of materials and pattern cuts, but I don't know how often you enjoy wearing this kind of look.

I have - or once upon a time, could do - a very sharp, Rachael Rosen, femme fatale look. Little suit, snappy black heels, dark mysterious fragile aura. But there aren't many occasions when I want to do that. People flick lighters under your nose looking for a cigarette to light...

Rachylou, I do love androgynous looks and wanted something to play up that factor. It just hasn't been coming out enough in my recent outfits, which are more... sensible? For me, the right vest would add an undefinable happiness factor, like the right shoes. I don't know how to explain it. But it needs to be forward and not frumpy. That's the line I'm having trouble seeing.

I think... I think this vest is androgynous but not "tough" - if that makes sense. I don't know if that helps any.
