Two date night outfits - YouLookFab Forum

Two possible looks for a date this weekend, dinner and a haunted
house.He left the dressiness up to me, so I voted for dressy this time,
since he has some other date ideas this month that are quite casual.

The weather will be cooling off by the weekend. Since this is mostly an
evening date, it will be chilly but not cold most of the time.

All pieces in the photographs are exactly what I own or nearly
identical. Additionally, I am height and weight proportional, 5'4", and
my hair is brownish blonde, about halfway down my back.

Which look do you like better?

Outfit #1: White short sleeve ruffle blouse, black Halloween skirt with
orange pumpkins and white ghosts that comes to a few inches above my
knees, orange nylons, and black flats. I will have my black cardigan
for later on.

Outfit #2: Black short sleeve ruffle
blouse; orange Halloween with black bats, pumpkins, spiders, and stars,
that comes to the very tops of my knees; orange nylons; and black flats.
I will have my black cardigan for later on.

Cute.l like a themed outfit.Either would be good ,l happen to like the first skirt best.

That’s a tough choice! I like the first skirt best too... but I like the overall of the second outfit more.

Both skirts are super cute. I would go with outfit #1 just because I'm matchy-matchy and like how the orange tights and the orange in the skirt go together. I would like outfit #2 better with black tights.

Agree with Sara L above. The orange tights are better with the first skirt. But actually, I prefer the second skirt and maybe you could change out the tights like she suggests.
This dating seems to be going well so far! You’re doing fun things, yay.

Sara and Jenni, although I have worn before bottoms of one color with everything above and below being the same color different from the bottom, I don't do so often. Even though, in this case, there is some black in the skirt, it is primarily orange; wouldn't it appear to be kind of "out there" by itself with everything else being black?

If I wore black nylons, I'd be inclined to wear the white blouse, like in the second look (in this message), though I'd really like to wear a solid orange blouse, and let the skirt "transition" orange to black, as in the third look. What do you think?

Unfortunately, I do not own a solid orange blouse right now, but I found this one online to illustrate.

I think there is enough black in the skirt to make black tights look cohesive. It's subjective though and whatever you are most comfortable wearing is best.

Both are super cute. Like Joy said, both need to be worn. I hope you get the chance.

My lean is toward #1, as there appear to be more colors to coordinate, and you have done so quite well.

We are all thinking alike in this forum. I chose outfit #1, since it included all of Halloween's colors. I kind of like this for closer to Halloween itself, but I am not sure what Adam has in mind for casual dates or how many, so I went with it.

He complimented my color coordination, saying that I captured the spirit of Halloween. We seem to be getting close, too. After the haunted house, we sat on a bench outside for nearly two hours and talked, and had me in his lap the whole time. He is so romantic. It felt great putting my head on his shoulder.
