How come celebrities and models are always wearing heels?

Hooray for the flats and trainers! Such a good thing to have comfortable feet, so a really good thing I think and it looks like it is here to stay. Phew!

Echoing Tanya's comments!!!

Once you go flat, you can't go back! I cannot imagine myself buying very high heels again. Anything up to 2 inches is fine, but after that and I am not happy. So hoping that the low heel trend exists for a very long time.

I wore a midi-length jumpsuit the other day and had to wear heels with it. I didn't have any block heels in a suitable color, so I wore my black stilettos. It felt a little strange, because I don't see anyone in stilettos anymore. Choice #2 was a pair of traditional black slingbacks, which seemed a little stuffy as well. The block heel seems to be king of footwear right now!

Hmm, I can't speak to Seattle, last time I was there I hung out with some of the most fashionable ladies there ! But the flats as fashion is music to my ears, and I do think heels are at a low ebb. I don't think they will ever disappear entirely - but I hope great flats continue to stand their own.

I've always imagined Seattle as full of casual fabness, and am glad to hear that y'all are pairing a bit of flair and polish with happy feet! Indy is the land of athleisure and flip flops, I'm afraid!

Angie, I've been noticing the same thing--a lot of fun style in Seattle--and a lot that I want to emulate-- these days. When I first moved here, I was struck by the amount of fleece on the street. Not anymore.

Waiting for the bus this evening, I noticed a not-tall woman wearing cropped wide-legged pants or culottes, about mid-calf, a short boxy top, and sneakers. A simple, casual, yet stylish looking outfit. And I thought: I could do that--I have comparable pieces--and moreover, I want to!

I love that flats are super fashionable . I find that I rarely wear any type of heel these days even a block 2 inch. I do think that some of my outfits look better with a heel but comfort is ruling for me in a big way. I have become very intolerant of fussy uncomfortable shoes or clothes., does this mean I'm getting old and crotchety ?

MORE HIGH FIVING ALL ROUND.

Firecracker, it's really fun, isn't it. Bet you'd rock that look.

Jaime, AGREED. Heels will never go away, but they are diminishing as a fashion statement.

Gigi, you were right to wear heels with your jumpsuit. I have to, too.

Rachy, I think because stylist's want their celebs to look as tall as possible in photos. Same goes for bloggers. Height lengthens the leg lines and visually straightens curves. That's my guess.

Bijou, SOOO true. Once you're not in the habit of wearing heels - it's hard to go back.

UmmLila, they never went out of style.

Tanya, you crack me up.
