I'm sorry I have been so patchy with my forum involvement lately. I have been having the hardest time keeping up with life these days... But last night on a whim, I decided to mix things up a little. it feels like I have had subtle variations of the same hair cut for a very long time, and while I've liked it, I was just antsy for change. It's not that drastic, but was enough of a change to fill the need. So far my guys love it, which is nice. I'm intrigued to see how it looks when the roots start growing in (I also had the monthly bleaching last night). I couldn't wait to share it with you guys today,

Really lovely Sarah. The shorter side with the BIG sweep is dramatic in a very soft and pretty way, and as always the color is suuuper dramatic against your dark eye make up. Will you leave the ends frosted as it grows?

Thank you both! I'm so glad you like it. Aida, I get the roots bleached every 4 weeks, so my plan is to let it grow until then, which will leave the ends white as the roots are dark. If it grows out strangely and looks weird over the course of the 4 weeks, I may have to reconsider trimming that patch. I'm really hoping it doesn't require that much maintenance, though and I am not liking the idea of buzzing off the white ends and having a completely dark patch with the rest of the hair white. This will be interesting....

Hmm I wonder if adding just a few low lights to the swept section would make the short patch look better as the darker roots come in?

Aida, you are probably right... But I don't think I can afford more (in time and money) than the 2.5 hour appointment every 4 weeks. This will be an interesting experiment for sure! I will have to document the stages of growth. The nice thing about this drastic of a color and short cut (even before this change) is that it is always morphing. I tend to get the most compliments right before it's time to color again, when the roots are grown out, but then it feels wonderful to have it all go back to white again. I enjoy all of the stages... At least I did. We shall see this time!

Sounds like fun! If you do snap a weekly progress photo I'd be curious to see. As you said, with these short cuts they morph so quickly and every stage is interesting. How amusing that you get the most compliments with the roots grown out ^^

I like it, but I think you're going to have a lot of trouble with the color unless you're willing to accept two tone hair

Thanks Anna! I know... That is my concern. I'm hoping I'll be okay with the two toned hair, but we'll soon find out! It was worth the risk.
