We've touched on the TV Show "Mad Men" in past threads.
Are you seeing characters on other tv shows, or "personalities" (like newscasters, talk show hosts, etc) who knock your socks off? And if so, do you just look admiringly or do you find yourself "actively inspired" by them (eg. do you sometimes try to emulate their style)?
I read about 6 months ago that the biggest look being requested in hair salons was hair like the character Serena Van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl. This was the quotation from the NYTimes:
" ...coveted: extra long, ultra-shiny blond with a mussed-up tussle frolicking through the ends.
“It’s aspirational hair,” said John Barrett, whose salon sits atop Bergdorf Goodman in Midtown Manhattan.
Clients, Mr. Barrett said, “don’t just want the hair, they want the life.”
The article compares this current hair fad with other TV-inspired 'dos of the past, like "The Rachel" based on the hair of a character from "Friends" and Farah Fawcett's blond shag. It's a fun reminder that TV both reflects and inspires what goes on in the world of style.
