As with most things, it depends on the styling and fit. I think the pastel color and the fact that they are so full make it more suited for the younger crowd,
I recently thrifted this tulle skirt. I like the midi length plus the fact that the lining is about 3 inches shorter than the tulle so as not to cut the leg line too much. I wore my leather tipped jacket to help with the bit of volume around the waist. I don't think this looks too young on me (I'm 42).
