Tunic length sweaters

Any suggestions on where to look for tunic length sweaters? I tried on this one at Express, only solid - it's not online for some reason:

- something along these lines, but preferably wool or cotton, or at least high content of either, and not too expensive. I checked BR, GAP and J Crew. I would appreciate any ideas!

Marianne, I've been looking for tunic length sweaters this season as well, although not too intensely. I tried the express one and just felt I could do better. Other than the boyfriend cardigans, I haven't come across much either. So I'll be watching this thread. I want them to not be too clingy also-- more sack like.

Have you tried Macys? How did your festive holiday outfit shopping go?

It's a loose fit but I like it a lot. It's almost embarrassing how many times a week I wear it. I might have to duplicate it in red. It says it's a dress, but it's much too short for a dress (and I'm only 5'2).

By the way, I also tried that Express sweater and was appalled at the quality. I know Express is not the bastion of high quality, but they do have some good pieces. Those sweaters were atrocious though. I was even willing to overlook the bad quaity if the fit was right, but it was really poor.

Thank you, I'll check out UO and Macy's. I always forget about Macy's because it's always overwhelming for me, and I need a lot of time to comb through it.

Maya, I agree about the quality of that sweater, but it gave me a good idea of the proportions I want. I am not a fan of Express quality in general (sorry everyone!)

Angie, the festive top shopping didn't happen, because I found out I'm getting laid off and I couldn't get in the right mood :(. Last weekend I went to a (casual) party and wore my houndstooth CM vest and a simple black top, and I think I can make it work for more festive occasions. It's possible I'll have to be a SAHM for some time, and my focus shifted to more casual stuff like sweaters. And those 20 eyelet docs are moving higher on the priority list too.

Angie, to be honest, I am still digesting the news and trying to figure out the plan. I don't think I'll be a SAHM long term, but I might take time off for a while. Or I'll see if I can find some arrangement that leaves time for the family, at least while my kids are little.

I have tried on that Express dress ( and all the similar ones they have) and looked absolutely ridiculous in it, like an hourglass caricature. I have found a few online at Bloomies that i will be stalking, i really hope they go on significant sale after Xmas:

Oh Marianne, I am SO sorry to hear about your layoff. I've been thinking about you every time I read about the company in the last few weeks (so pretty much daily) and was wondering whether your job was safe. This is awful news to get, especially whilst in the midst of another huge adjustment with your second little one. Well, let me know if you ever want to hook up for cruising the consigment stores together (or just to have coffee and chat).

Marianne, I am sorry to hear about the layoff. You are not alone though, and I share Angie's very wise opinion that something better awaits. Enjoy the time with your family, try not to worry too much, and you're going to come out of this just fine.

Meanwhile I am also watching some of the same Aqua dresses that Tanya posted. Let's all keep each other in the loop if we see a price drop (and hopefully it will be big!)
