TT coat review #1 - UPDATED - YouLookFab Forum

I received one of the TT coats I ordered - the P6. I also ordered the P4, and that one should arrive next week. I first tried it on over a sundress, and felt I was swimming in the coat. I then (reluctantly!) put on some jeans and the PG loafers to get a better idea of the fit with cool weather clothes, and (surprise!) the coat looked much better. I am still waiting to see how the P4 fits in the shoulders (my biggest problem area in coats). For reference, I'm 5'2", an inverted triangle, and normally wear size P4 or P6 in JCrew coats.

It looks wonderful. Seriously, this is a magic coat!! Seems to work on a variety of body types.

I'm on my phone so can't comment on details of fit.

Banoffi - do you have room to go down in the waist?
In picture #4, it looks like your right shoulder is sticking out a bit, but the right shoulder looks like it is being sucked in a bit. So I wonder: how is the fit in the shoulders?

Smittie - There is plenty of extra room in the waist. There is a bit of extra room in the shoulders (I think?) but not a lot. I've taken another photo of the back.

Banoffi, although not a true IT, I often have fit issues in the shoulder area when trying coats and jackets, and I was surprised at the ease in the TT coat. The 4P may very well work nicely!

Ok, I see. I think the shoulders look good on the 6.
It will be interesting to see about the 4.

Beth - It's good to hear the shoulders were roomy enough in the TT coat. I'll give my review of the P4 when it arrives on Tuesday!

UPDATED: I received the smaller sizes of the TT coat and North Face parka this week. The TT in a P4 and the parka in an XS. I like the fit of both of them better than the larger sizes. The North Face parka is, however, quite fitted now and I wouldn't be able to wear anything too bulky underneath it, but I think that will work. I've followed Smittie's great example and tried layering TNF parka under the TT coat to check if the TT coat works with something bulky. I think it does, but would love opinions on whether you think the coat is too tight somewhere.

I like the smaller size TT coat much better than the 6. It looks super with the TNF coat underneath which I saw Smittie do also. I would like to know if you can comfortably raise your arms, sit down, bend, etc. when wearing the puffer coat under the TT ? It looks as though it could be snug but it's more about how it functions that matters. It doesn't look bad, I like it.

We are twins, I have both coats! And I tried smittie's layering idea too. LOL!

TNF look great and fits you exactly the same way it fits me. I believe it is supposed to be a slim fit. I think the fit on the TT looks good too. Didn't Suz call it a magic coat, looks great on everyone! Just double check the sleeve length, it might be how you are posing your arms but your right sleeve looks a little shorter than your left.

You did REALLY well. I love the smaller size in the TT coat, and it's fun with the puffer under it too. Make sure you can drive and move with those layers though.

I think ot works with something bulky, but looks quite a bit better done up.
