Trying to style the cropped flares

I bought a pair of Angie's Derek Lam cropped flares (not actually Angie's but you get my drift ). They're a great cut and really nice fabric and I'm keen to get them happening in my wardrobe. I'm not very confident with how to wear them though.

Today is a public holiday here so I've had some time to play. Honestly, I'm not feeling the warm weather looks, but love them with boots.

I've also included some pics of 2 options I was considering for my 40 year high school reunion coming up in 3 weeks. Scary! I have decided on the Camilla dress.

1. With Lee Mathews blouse and Steve Madden shoes. I don't really like the shoes..they seem too heavy.
2. With Zara top and Django and Juliette shoes which I prefer.
3. With blush top. I dont feel that I can wear blush anymore with my red hair.
4. Same top in black. Not so keen.
5. With Sass and Bide top
6. With Sass and Bide tee and Vionic runners.
7. Winter look with Arche boots and Metalicus jacket (love this)
8. With Asos top and Siren sandals (meh)
9. With All Saints top (very old) and Jo Mercer shoes. Ok?
10 & 15. With blouse I made years ago and wedges bought OS.
11. With Rick Owens jacket (Ebay)...not sure about this one but love the jacket.
12. Dress from local boutique, On Cliff. Robert Robert shoes. Eel skin skull bag.
13. Camilla caftan tied a couple of ways. Will probably wear it the one shouldered way.

Fantastic job styling the flares, cococat. I will be using this as inspiration as it's almost time to start wearing my NAS black ones. I think #9 is my fav, if I had to pick one.

You have some stunning looks here.

For the reunion outfit I like your choice, though I think picture 13 sould also be amazing.

Of the cropped looks, I think they are all great (and I think you CAN still wear blush) except #10 - might just be the angle but to me it makes your tummy look rounded in a way that it clearly isn't, as shown by all the other pictures!

Thank you for your feedback Elizabeth and Anne. I'm pleased you think these looks are ok. It's difficult to adjust my eyes to this length and it makes me unsure.

Anne I've added another slightly blurred pic of the white blouse look. I think it was just a weird camera angle that gave me a tummy....I have one but I try to keep it well hidden..lol.

I agree that the neutral sandals are just fab with them, and I like the sneakers too. I actually really love looks 8 and 9 on you, and the Camilla caftan is a stunner.

I also am not sure about the white shirt but it does look better in the second blurry pic.

All look fab....my favorites would have to be the flowing boho tops with them. That caftan is gorgeous and looks amazing with the sandals.

You will look amazing at your reunion in the Camilla caftan! I like the long, one shoulder look.
As for the cropped flares, they will be very versatile across the seasons, I think.
I like looks 2 and 5, if I have to pick favourites. The Sass top is fab!

WOW the Camilla dress on you! It is so beautiful for your reunion, and the blue heels are the bomb. I love it both ways, but the longer version is more dressy than the shorter one. With reunions its nice to dress to impress, and this does and then some. If the weather is too cold for this, your new black Witchery dress is also divine.

You look fantastic in your new jeans with each and every top - the white top looks great too. Sometimes when taking selfies, the angles can be a bit funny - your white top sits beautifully on you. Your top in #1 is exactly what I want to buy this summer. I love how each of your tops has a point of difference (a lovely pattern, a cold shoulder, an interesting ruffle or sleeve).

Wow, I think you have a lot of options for these pants, I love them all. I love #1 and like the dark shoes with it, and also #5. But really, you can't go wrong with any of these.

Wow oh wow!! I think your eye just needs to adjust to your incredible gorgeousness here. You are used to wearing wintery things now and in moving into spring have not glimpsed your feet/ ankles. I honestly love every one of these looks. You have lovely delicate ankles and showcasing them is a slam dunk.

You look sensational in every option. I think I understand why you prefer the neutral sandals but I think the darker ones work as well. My faves are 1,2,3,5, 6, 7....oh I might as well stop or I'll just go on. Really love these pants on you. Dress and caftan also work well.

Oh, my goodness. I like every single outfit. They are all spectacular, and there is so much beautiful and fun variety here! I hope you are enjoying those new cropped flares, because you are wearing them like a rock-star model. And I do love the blush top on you; I think it complements your hair and complexion very nicely.

The Camilla dress is gorgeous on you, both ways. What a great piece to pack--it's like having multiple dresses along.

Thank you Firecracker for commenting on the blush top, and my blouse. I used to enjoy sewing but I don't seem to have the time anymore. This was from a Vogue designer pattern and I loved the wrap style.

Suz, thank you for the lovely comment about my ankles! These pants really do highlight ankles don't they. Greenjeans, my favourites are with the jackets too. To me these pants were made for jackets and boots with fitted ankles.

I'm pleased that you all like my choice to wear my Camilla caftan for the school reunion. JAileen, your comment made me chuckle. I had some unwelcome attention from one of my old schoolmates at the last reunion (he was probably mortified when he sobered up), so probably Camilla is a better choice.

Yes your second white blouse picture looks great. I think all that had happened was your lifting your arms to take the picture had lifted blouse to create the shape that I was thinking.

The jeans are fantastic. All of these work - I am partial to the white top you made, which is timeless. You will knock them dead whatever you wear to the reunion.

The cropped pants look great on you in all of your pictures. I think the lack of confidence in how to wear them must be from it being an unfamiliar look still. The pale pink is fine but not as stunning as the orange or as dramatic as the black or white.
