I loved this pin nonstop for weeks and weeks so finally I decided to copy it using Angie's steps.

distill:
I loved the combination of olive, stripes, and leather bag. I loved the casual but put together vibe. I loved the use of black that wasn't too strict or harsh when the outfit's taken as a whole.

adapt:
The Chanel bag that's such a prominent feature of this outfit is unlikely to happen for me in my lifetime. The leopard flats are not in my wardrobe, nor is anything leopard at all. Plus the temps have dipped into the 40s here which for me is too cold to wear low-throated shoes without socks.

substitute:

  • I scrunched the sleeves of my black moto to mimic the 3/4 sleeves in the pin. My bag is not quilted, but my moto has some quilting to add to the mix of textures!
  • My Breton is too short and boxy to wear out, so I anchored it with a small semi-tuck. The neckline is higher than on the pin, and I couldn't make it stop rippling.
  • My bag isn't quilted, but it has a chain!
  • I substituted nude-ish suede booties for the nude-functioning leopard flats.
  • I bought olive skinnies to complete this look, inexpensively. I chose not to cuff them because of the footwear substitution.
Comment: several of my choices meant there was less skin showing in my outfit (the sleeves didn't stay scrunched, higher neckline, covered footwear) which I thought made the outfit less successful. But I really enjoyed wearing it.

Thoughts?
