I went shopping with a friend today and forced myself to try on some things that she picked for me, that I might never have looked at otherwise. The find of the day, and one of very few purchases, was this blouse from WHBM. I was reluctant to try it because it looked boxy and large on the hanger, however, I was drawn to the color. I am surprised by how much I love the look overall. The sleeves are so interesting, esp. in person.
I consider this a statement piece, and not something that I can mix and match very easily. It's trendier than most of the clothing I purchase. I'm glad my friend pushed me into new territory and helped freshen my closet for Spring.
The lesson for me is to try new shapes and silhouettes, even if I think they won't work. How often do you push yourself to try something outside your typical range of silhouettes?
