Dee, thanks! I may just have to take ownership of this shirt - DH hardely ever wears dress shirts any more. Agree that a looser sweater might be better.
Star, I too like the untucked shirt under a sweater look, but I'm so short that it's very difficult to get the proportions right. Most of the time I try it the shirttails look too long and sloppy.
Thank Sisi, Runcarla, kkards, jaime .
Pirouette, thanks, and I will have to try the semi tuck thing some more, it's a new thing for me. And thanks for the encouragement!
Suz, wise comments! Yes I love classic pieces, yes I love and NEED layering. I agree her accessories make her outfits more feminine. Hmm Feminine Preppy ... a moniker to consider!
Kate - I've never thought of wearing men's shirts because I didn't think they would fit me right but now I'm going to give them a try.
Robin F good eye, the belt may in fact be too large. I haven't' worn them in so long that I didn't notice! I have to return anther item at the same time so I'll see if they have a size down in the belt
Thanks LIsa, and yes Bengela is SO well accessorized!!! It's her signature I think. Fun preppy...
Thanks Firecracker! If you are thinking of he Loft sweater vest that a bunch of us were trying a few months ago, I ended up returning it. The neck band was too high on my short neck and annoying. A different one could work. On that specific outfit of B's you linked to with the olive sweater vest ... I positively drooled over that one for a LONG time! Yes would need to modify the colors just a bit ..
Bijou, thanks. Grown up preppy ... hmm food for thought! I think Bengela's style is much more bold than I'd ever feel comfortable with, but who knows?
...so the suggestion/observation seems to be a moniker of fun/feminine/grown up preppy a la Ralph Lauren Very interesting!!
