Trying some looks with the F21 dress

I have a lot of toppers and not so many things to wear under them. The topper over dress has been a great winter formula. With that in mind, here are some attempts with the F21 floral dress.

1. Caslon drapey vest

2. Drapey jacket

3. Green cashmere hoodie

4. Theory jacket

5. Fleece-lined sweatshirt cardi (thrifted) - not a good color, but I like the shape

6. Green drapey sweater from Target

I have LOTS of other long cardis, blazers, sweaters and a vest that would work over this dress. And all of these looks could go to work.

Beautiful dress! The only one I don't care for is the color of 5, but you knew that.

I like it with the shorter jacket (and the moto from yesterday) best. That dress was a great find for you. Maybe you can wear it to your (high school? college?) reunion, too. I'd probably go with the pants for Boston, though.

Gorgeous dress! All the black toppers and green sweater look great with it.
Is it body con? I saw an ad (BR?) suggesting to wear a BD shirt under a dress. Would depend on the fabric....

It is body con - would not wear it alone or with something under. It's almost like a layering shirt in dress form.

I like it with the black blazer #4. Simpler seems better with all that floral.

I think #1 vest is a great way to layer the dress without hiding its shape. #4 jacket also creates a great line. I don't like how the others toppers add more volume to it and hide both your shape and the dress. But that's my opinion!

I'm surprised at how much I like 5 & 6 on you. Softer colors, not what I usually associate with your more high contrast style. Not sure why you say #5 is not a good color on you? I wish I could pull that color off -- it's soft yet sophisticated neutral, IMO. But the green (both 6 & 3) is a gorgeous color on you.

Of the other three (black) I prefer 4 but I like them all just as well, for different occasions and moods.

I guess the black is more expected (matchy?), so I suppose I am having a slightly stronger preference for the non-black options. Matchy is in now though.

#1 is my favorite. The jackets are great too but need the black boots you would wear with them.

I think you can really work this dress with everything. I'm just getting a little thrown off by the shoes. Want to see the booties again....

These are all great, in my book. You are on a roll! I'm not crazy about the color of 5, as you point out, but I do like the shape.

I think the vest is great-- and the sleeker toppers, not too long. They all can work but some proportions will look best. Fantastic dress.

I really like this dress on you!!!! I love all of the pictures, except number 6. The sweater color did not speak to me and seemed wrong. There is no good reason why it shouldn't have worked. Perhaps I just love black toppers more?

I like them all except #2 which seems too long and messes up the proportions. The others all look good and would give lots of options depending on your mood.

#1 is my favorite - I think I like how the vest style balances all the floral. I also like #3 - again I think the balance of styles is why, but both of these are also very figure flattering where the others are good too, they sort of hide you more.

I like the dress, because you like it, but I'm not sure about many of these toppers. I feel like you need something that hits loosely at the hips for this, and many of these feel too long. May just be me.

I like the slouch of #1 and the snap of #4--the others look either a bit too long/droopy, or too muddy in color to give that floral the frame it deserves.

I like #4 best. The length of the jacket is good and the style of the jacket seems to work well with the dress. I am trying to picture the looks with your footwear:)

I can see #1 working with boots, #2 the proportions look off, #3 looks a little incongruent with the dress? #5 and #6 look a little long.
