ETA The waist on 1 is a bit loose so I would need to alter if I were to buy - realities of my pear shaped life!

I like 2. Normally I like you in pencil skirts but 1 doesn't grab me. 3 seems too long.

I like 1 and 2. 3 looks a it blah. The other two look great and provide the opportunity for different silhouettes.

Thanks Laura and Deborah. I was wondering if 2 had too many horizontal lines. I'm with you on #3 - though Laura length isn't necessarily an issue - at my height I'm used to hemming everything!

I like the silhouette of 1 and 2 for the waist definition and the fun print. Number 2 looks like it would be swooshy and it makes me smile. Agreeing with others that 3 seems long and ho-hum.

I tried 3 because it was the closest in that shop (Jacquie E) to a soft pleated skirt, which I'd quite like to try.

1 looks like it might not fit smoothly and the side seam on your left may not be laying correctly. 2 is great. 3 is "okay", I'd leave it and keep looking for another pencil skirt because I think Deborah's right about the different silhouettes.

#1 and #2 both look good. I would definitely pick the one that fits well already though.

2 is my favorite, but with the slight alteration I could see 1 being very versatile and I really like that texture.

I like #1 and 2 also. But the fit does look off in #1.

No. 2 is my favorite, then no. 1. I really like no. 2; no. 1 is OK but not exciting to me. I would vote to not get #1 unless you really love it, because you will have to pay extra for the alts.

#2 is lovely, and I think it would look fantastic for work - something stylish and fun while still being entirely office appropriate! I also like #1, which is less "exciting" but looks like it would be very practical and match with lots of other items. Agreeing with others that #3 is not as good as the others. But 2 out of 3 is pretty good!

I like them all. In fact, I almost bought number 3. Based on comments here, I am glad I saved myself the trouble of having to return number 3. I agree with all the commenters. Compared to numbers 1 and 2, number 3 does look blah.

So that means numbers 1 and 2 are possibilities. I really like number 2 for its color and statement. I like number 1 for its endless possibilities. Angie once posted that you should already know what you are wear with a skirt before you buy it. Otherwise, you run the risk of an orphan. Do you have ideas of how to style number 2?

Thanks so much for all your input. I am not planning on buying anything just yet, but want to do lots of trying things on and getting a feel for different styles and what is out there. I actually tried on more that day too, but my phone stopped working mid session!

Sterling - are you Australian too?- I think I had forgotten.

I have at least 3 tops that would likely go with skirt 2.

I actually like 1 and 3. Guess I'm in the minority. I'm a lover of neutrals. #3 needs great shoes and some jewelry. And you could throw on a yellow scarf (a bold color).

Sterling - do you have Jacqui E over there?

AM - yellow doesn't look good near my face - but maybe another bold colour. An outfit that needs great shoes is probably not the one for me
