Trouve Mesh Sweater - so pretty!

I couldn't help but order the Trouve Metallic mesh sweater in one of Angie's recent blog posts:

I *love it*. It's way prettier in person than it looks on screen - there's a beautiful, but subtle metallic thread throughout. One minute the metallic thread looks slighly greenish, next minute slightly gold-ish, or coppery, or pink-ish. Sounds garish, but it's totally not. It's gorgeous.

I just took it outside, thinking I'd take a picture of it in the sunlight, since indoors, the slightly shimmery thread just looks like an ink-blue sweater, but in the light - wow!

I didn't get a very good pic of it, and it's still a bit wrinkly from the box...the metallic is beautiful and the sweater is much prettier than an "ordinary" mesh sweater.

I sized up to a large for a slouchier fit and it's perfect. Also got a Halogen cami in the navy peacoat colour to go underneath. The neckline is perfect too - not so much a crewneck - kind of a cross between a crewneck and boatneck on me. For size reference, I'm 5' 6" tall and hovering around 159lbs these days. The medium would fit too, but wouldn't be "slouchy" if that helps.

Sorry for the ugly-ish pic, just got it a few minutes ago from the UPS guy. I can see that my camera didn't capture the shimmer as well as I'd have liked - but hopefully you can still see a wee bit of it.

I fell in love with this as well. Can I ask a bit more about sizing? What Size do you normally wear? Something I could relate to would be gap or BR. Ordering to Canada is pricy, but there are a few things starting to move up my wish list, so I might just take a chance. Don't want to return!

My "normal" size is between an 8 and 10 (150-155 lbs, 5', 6" tall, small frame), or a medium/large depending on brand but I've been battling a five-to-ten pound weight gain (currently around 159-160 lbs) for months and months now (working on it!). Meanwhile, I'm still just fine with my GAP Real Straight jeans in a size 10, and my GAP Really Skinny pants are a size 12 because I didn't want them to be too tight - they're still very body-conscious on me, due to the material - and I just felt more comfortable in a 12 in those particular pants (GAP Really Skinny I mean). Oddly enough, the Real Straight jeans in a size 10 are still quite loose and slouchy on me for some reason. Must be the cut/style? Or maybe GAP's sizing is somewhat generous, not sure.

Hate to say it, but I don't have anything BR at the moment, so no idea what my current size is there.

For me, the Trouve sweater in large is perfect - there's no way it looks "too big" so I'd say it's fairly true to size (I think?). That said, I did want the slouchier version. It's not all baggy, just a tiny bit slouchy.

In the end, these days - I'd say my "normal" current size is more like a 10-12 depending on brand/style.

Are you maybe ordering from Canada? If so, I have a couple of skirts and pants from Reitmans, and they are a size 11 if that helps.

If in doubt re: Trouve sweater, err on sizing up, imo. I realize the quickie pic I put up makes the sweater look really big, but it's not that big-looking on.

That's the one! There isn't more than one blue.

On the Nordstrom website, it says "Navy Eclipse" and I found it handy to be able to order a matching camisole (Halogen) in a colour called "Navy Eclipse" as well. I have a few blue camisoles around, but wanted to make sure it was the right blue, if you know what I mean.

In any case - the sweater looks darker online, and you can't really get a good impression of the pretty metallic threads throughout from the site photo, which is why I threw up a pic of it hanging outside in the sun It says navy online, and it looks navy in ordinary lighting or from a distance, but as you can see, it's mysteriously "not just navy" due to the fancy shimmery threads in it.
