Triple C: Channel a Celebrity Challenge

Last week we ran into Jack Black on the streets twice. The first time he was in grungy sweats and a t-shirt. This brought to mind celebrities who are admire for their style even when they are out on a casual day. I thought it would be fun to start a YLF challenge. Either we could channel the style of a particular celebrity and showcase an outfit or two or we could take a specific outfit of a celebrity and do our own interpretation of it. What do you think? Are you in? If so, other thoughts on how to further specify this challenge and have fun with it?

AJ - wow, I had no idea. You are awesome at this.
Khris - I like him too. We decided not to bug the poor guy. There were enough people gawking at him and he was out walking with his little kids, sippy cup in one hand, kid in the other. Someone went up to him and asked for an autograph and he refused. I can understand that - it would have been the end of his hike.
Taylor, Tara - let's leave it open for a day or two and see how many people want to participate. I will then send out a call. Happy preparing in the meantime

I think I would have fun with this but I do need some help knowing where to find good pictures of celebrities to channel.

Sihaya - it normally takes me a good two minutes before I realise I have seen a celeb - my mind normally goes "hey, I know that person, but can't remember where from...walk further down road....oh its (insert name)"

London is pretty good for celeb spotting. I have seen Kate Moss a couple of times, Dan Radcliffe, Emma Watson. It is actually hard sometimes to work out whether or not they are a celeb as they tend to dress down (but nicely) and aren't over made up.

Fi, I know what you mean. In JB's case, it was so obvious that I was able to spot him instantly. Usually doesn't happen to me either. San, I use Wonderwall on MSN. Sometimes the home page on MSN has good photos because they post several best and worst lists (hair, outfits, etc.) pictures there.

Sounds like fun idea, count me in too. Also how about using pre-determined celebrities pictures? I think it may be interesting to have different interpretations of the same look. We can have several to choose from - say 3 to 5 and have a separate thread for each...

I like the idea, but I can't promise that I'm in because I'm kind of slow at challenges. I think I still have some photos of my attempts at challenges from 6 months ago that I haven't had the guts to post.

OK, it looks like there are enough people interested in this challenge that we can get started. How about we give everyone till the weekend so they can browse through celeb outfits before they start posting starting next Monday? Of course if you're already doing this like AJ, feel free to start earlier.

The challenge:

- Find a celeb whose style you admire then copy that in your own outfit.
You can do option A:
- Copy that outfit and pose as closely as possible or
You can do option B:
- Channel the essence of that celeb's style based on a number of photos and show us your interpretation.

And Medusa, you can post whenever you're ready. I still have posted for Angie's no black challenge though I went two full weeks without black (she says sheepishly!)
