Trip to Hugo Boss

I had such a lovely lunch time, and had a quick trip to Hugo Boss. I haven't shopped there before. I came out with this skirt and dress.

I am pleased with them, but I will only be keeping them if endorsed by Fabbers! So all comments would be appreciated.

The navy pinstripe will be super for work. No jacket needed, can fit under a coat. I thought a good fit. Doesn't crease. But £££ and so will need to score well with you!

The skirt is a kind of wild card. I like the neatness of it, but it is A-line and may not be great for my pear shape. I would wear with black, and only put on this t shirt to show you the skirt.

I wouldn't wear with heels all the time and it would need to be okay with flats. I wondered what you thought? Thank you for looking.

Are you really a pear? You look quite hourglassy in that dress. Perhaps I can just see the pear at the top of the thighs. Either way, the dress is flattering. Maybe you could try the red scarf belt idea with this one?!
The houndstooth skirt is even more to my personal taste. I adore houndstooth and think it totally works with your shape. Pic 5 is awesome! And a good length for flats. The skirt won't be orphaned?

OMG I love both pieces so much!
Isn't it fab to walk into a store and come out a short while after with not one, but two fab finds?
The skirt is unique, classic and VERY flattering on you. Keep keep keep. You have styled it beautifully with heels and opaque nylons. It makes for a bautiful lively figure and I'm sure you got compliments or will soon.
The dress is also an absolute yes, no questions asked. It has a very classic shape, and has a demure and graceful shoulder line. You look like a ballerina. I very much dig the collar shape and simplicity paired with your hairstyle and haircolour. It's very elegant and tasteful.
Well done! Maybe this store likes you.

They are both gorgeous. The skirt is fun, a bit flirty but still quite traditional.

The dress is my favourite and I think a classic, I’m sure you will get compliments every time you where it.

A big YES to the dress. Wow! So elegant.
The skirt styling is fab. Love the external pocket detail.
But it looks a little bit bunchy at the back. That might be an optical illusion though. And I’m on my phone so can’t see that well.

Both are super. You can wear that dress forever. A real classic.

How does the waistband on the skirt feel? I can see the skirt with flats and heels. Depending on the flats and the top, the skirt may give off a bit of a schoolgirl vibe. Not necessarily a bad thing.

Glad you think it is fun The Cat; I do agree bj1111 it could have a school girl vibe but if I style it well, I am hoping that the fun side will prevail. I did also try on this skirt, but that to me with the tiny print, felt more school girly and my 30 year younger self would have been drawn to that one.

The waist band feels fine, but it was the bunching at the back Smittie that I feel kind of uncertain about I am going to have another try on, to make sure I haven't found an orphan. I mostly wear skirts and tops, so I think it will be okay, but always worth checking.

Thank you Joyce; I've not purchased in HB before. I did find some of the styling a bit austere. Also, I am not so good with chrome hardwear on things lie jackets. So I had to look carefully. Yes, Ms Maven, the sizes seemed large to me. The blouses I tried on especially roomy I think.

Thank you Krish, on the ballerina comment, I do kind of look wistfully at what I think a ballet teacher might wear, based on very limited experience of watching Fame!

It's good to be thoughtful. You have a small wardrobe from what you've said so these awesome new clothes are exciting and give you extra choice. I love the extra skirt with the ditzy print too. I know what you mean about still being drawn to things you would have liked when in teens, twenties etc. That still happens to me a lot and I now make a conscious effort to avoid buying too much of a schoolgirl vibe since for me at 57 y old those days are 40 y in the past! My final year of high school was in 1978! I said that to a 17 y old patient some months back for some reason and she sort of looked at me in awe like I came from Noah's Ark!
