Oh I feel like I drift away every year and then come back for the NAS, I so appreciate Angie's reviews and top picks, and I really enjoy vicariously shopping through everyone, especially for things I don't really need.
Bit by bit my order(s) have been trickling in, but most things won't come until towards the end of the week. So far the only things I've received are the satin dress, which will go back, and the Paul Green loafers. I tried the dress in both colors thinking it would be a good performance dress, but it had 2 issues. The armpit holes were too bit/my bra was showing, and then the fit of the bottom section was just strange, a bit more boxy that it looks in the pictures. But the neckline was nice and the satin was more flattering that I suspected it would be so I think it could work on someone taller and not as short waisted. It also arrived pretty wrinkled (folded in a bag), I considered letting it hang for a bit in the bathroom but decided not to bother since that wouldn't fix the armhole issue and I'm not interested in it enough to see about getting those tailored.

The Paul Green loafers are definitely a splurge for me, but would replace 2 pairs of shoes, aging pikolino mary janes that have never felt quite right and a pair of not very flattering clogs, neither of which seemed like they worked with cropped hems. I've been looking for a pair of loafers for a while and not seeing anything that really spoke to me, I like the sportiness of these, combined with the elastic, since my heel usually steps out of loafers. I'm on the fence though as they seem a little tight through the toe box and are rubbing my ankle a bit. I suspect the toe box will stretch a bit, but I don't know if the ankle issue will resolve itself. The color in nordstrom's pic is much more representative than in my photos. If the loafers don't work, maybe the slingbacks are a good alternative. On reflection I'm not super excited about the fitflop loafers, but again, elastic back and I really like my flip flops from them so seemed worth trying as an alternative.

I'm really hoping the CeCe blazer comes back in pink, it would be so fun to wear to the Madonna Inn, where I perform most weeks. The jumpsuit and earrings are for there as well.
