Tretron sneakers = are they comfortable?

Tretorn sneakers are on sale today at 6pm.com today, but I am wondering how comfortable they are. Does anyone own a pair? What do you think?

I have to think that they must be because a) they've been around for ages and b) Lands End just 'brought them back' into the fold in their Spring line . They seem to be a classic in many ways. I saw the prices at 6pm, I don't know if they have free shipping but that is a good deal! Do you think you will try some? I'd love to hear what you think if you do.

I decided to order them because one of the pairs said it was the last one in my size. 6pm doesn't have free shipping, so if they don't work out I'll be out the shipping cost, but I decided it was worth the risk. I'll let you know what I think of them when I get them.

So, I'm back with an update on the Tretorn sneakers. I bought two pairs:

I kept the metallic leather pair and returned the black canvas pair. I have been wearing the metallic leather pair several times a week and have found them quite comfortable - they are definitely 8 hour shoes for me. Yay! I ended up returning the black canvas pair because the metal grommets dug into my feet - ouch!

Also, a heads up about returning items to 6pm.com. Unlike many companies that provide a return label (usually they deduct $6-8 from your return), 6pm.com does not do this. I addition, their warehouse is located in a rural area so there was an extra $3 rural delivery fee. I ended up paying $14 to return a $16 pair of sneakers - yikes! In the future, I will probably only order from 6pm.com if I know it is a pair of shoes that will work for me.
