I just scored these boots for $40 (originally $120):

Tanya, I thought of you - look, a wedge!!

They are just a *tiny* bit higher than I like, but I think they'll work, and every other pair I've tried are TOO high to wear, or they are too short which is not a good look for me. What I liked was the toggles - they cinch the boots in nicely so they aren't big and sloshy looking around the ankles and calves. And having the wedge is nice too. The color? Well, theoretically I would love a fun pair in a pattern or bright color, but realistically, I think I will get more wear out of a pair that is neutral like this.

Now I'm ready for rain and slush and puddles! Bring it on...

Ooh, I saw the yellow ones when I went surfing for a photo of my new ones to share here. They are pretty! And fun!

I got these at National Jeans Company. Unfortunately, they were the very last pair like this.... and they were on final sale so of course I obsessed endlessly before purchase.

I also tried on a pair of COH Kelly bootcuts in 4-way stretch. I didn't buy them, but I was impressed. The stretch is substantial - when you first see them, you think "no way are these going to ever fit" but then they do, because of all the stretch. And very comfy!! Plus, while I thought the Kelly's were low-rise, these were about the same rise as my Ambers.

My daughter and I also hit this boutique and had a lot of fun trying on a lot of stuff in just an hour, but I ended up passing on everything else... though my daughter thinks I should go back and buy the knit moto jacket. I would buy it if it was leather or even pleather... but I'm afraid the knit material shows every bump and bulge around my waist.

(It looked good unzipped though.)
