Trench Possibility

I'd like to know your thoughts on this trench available in a local store. I kind of like the fact that it's not your usual trench in that it has these ruffles/tiers at the bottom but does come in the traditional colour. It comes in petite (a definite plus for me) and although beige is not my best colour, with a bright scarf and handbag I could pull it off. Style wise - what do you think?

I've seen a similar one and I kinda like it! As with anything, I think it's all in the styling. I bright scarf would look really, really nice with it. It's a twist on a classic.

I like this style. It's a pretty popular shape right now. I've seen lots of women in this coat in wool. I'd love to see you in a jewel tone or something in a more saturated color. I think a bright scarf would compete with the ruffle trim.

Oooh, nicely offbeat without being in-your-face trendy, and possible to use in dressier, perhaps even evening outfits because of the more feminine twist! I'd be happy to have something like this -- a classic that is also a statement piece.

(Though I'll confess I'd also love it even more in navy or charcoal, which you wear so well --- that way you wouldn't need to worry about dressing it up with extra colour!)

I vote no - a spring coat that you always need to wear a scarf with sounds like a bit of a pain to me. Maybe, if you want semi-classic, a traditional shape in an untraditional color?

It looks a bit more saturated than soul-sucking beige, but I'm having trouble picturing it. I guess I would personally have to see it on to decide - sorry that's no help.

I *love* that! I'd buy it and wear it with a fab scarf if I was hesitant about the overall color. How is double breasted on you? I wear it but not a lot of people like it I find. I just picked up a lined trench in about the same color by London Fog and I think that it's going to be fine, it's a classic trench color after all.

I also love *this* coat by them and it's on sale for $59.00 You should get it too! LOL

I really like it Shannon! I love that the pleats on the bottom make it more interesting than a plain trench. I'm not sure about the color, though. (Don't they make it in purple?)

I'm kinda on the fence. Double breasted isn't so good if you are busty, and as for the tiers, somehow they don't make any sense style-wise. As for the colour, yes it's a basic but so is black or navy or red, and you seem to wear more of those colours. The more I write, the more I'm talking myself out of liking this at all!! (Sorry for the gloomy remarks - I'm hungry right now - time to sign off and chow down!)

I like it. This reminds me of an Emporio Armani trench I purchased some years ago, it was $500. It was a bit unconventional like this one. I am now finding myself wanting a more classic trench. And now feel bad for disowning it, since I paid a fair amount for it. So ask yourself: if you feel done with it in a year or two, will you feel bad for passing it on?
