So, I told myself that I wouldn't buy any clothes (undergarments excluded) in 2011 because I have way to many clothes for my living space (grad student budget). I confess that I made one loophole for this trench....I've been eyeing it since late Autumn. 100% Silk. $1700. But if you wear it a lot (Midwest?), and it's classic and well-made, can this overshadow the steep price tag?
Sometimes I think that as a grad student, now is the time to make quality purchases--often, you're unattached, without kids, car, mortgage, etc.. You can make a purchase in your late 20s/early 30s and then stretch it for decades. It seems like the best time for selecting a few of your best quality items, but I might be biased in my observations.
