BB Trench coat fail?

So I was heading out the door to go look into possibly getting an iphone when I saw the FedEx truck through the garage door window. I just ordered this directly from the store on Monday! The iphone could wait so I hurriedly snapped some pictures, in Rae and Sara's black boot styling footsteps of course.

Does the length of the coat automatically make it a fail? I would likely wear it with skirts/dresses and jeans/pants. This is probably the longest length of skirt or dress I would wear with it. Otherwise I think the fit is good, unless I'm missing something? It is a petite and these pictures are with the lining. What do you think of the color on me?

Do I have the ignominious honor of being the first trench coat fail?

Hey Pil, I just saw this. So this is a Petite size? That's good to know; I think you're the first to post pictures of one.

First of all, I think you look great in it! And if you decided you want a different size I'm pretty sure you can exchange it and still keep the sale price. It does seem a tich short to me, but I'm comparing it to mine (which is probably a tich long). I don't think that's a deal breaker. You'll have to see how you like it with your other skirts plus your jeans and slacks. I don't think we have the same rules these days about covering our skirts completely with our coats like we did in times past. I think the color is good! The overall fit looks good to me too. Shall I print up your BB trench coat club membership card?

I don't see a single issue with this coat at all! It looks absolutely fabulous. I don't subscribe to "rules," just base decisions on what looks good to my eye.

I think you look great. The skirt hem peeking out doesnt bother me in the least. I think the coats color looks really well with your hair color too.

I think it looks great! I do not mind the length with that dress at all. So so sooooo not a fail!

I love it!!! No fail at all. I don't think it is too short but if you prefer longer could you try a regular or would that make the waist too low? Anyway, it is fine at this length & most trench coats out there these days are shorter.

Elle, thanks! I am short waisted so the regular would probably hit too low on my waist. And the sleeves and hem would probably be too long.

Angie, the specs were ordered Monday! They tell me up to a two week wait.

I did get my hair cut yesterday but it doesn't show all that well in the pictures. I'm really happy with it though. My hairdresser did what she could at this length and we'll keep working toward more length.

I like the length with your skirt/dress! It IS shorter, but still looks good and intentional - like that's exactly what you had in mind

If you're feeling insecure (even after Angie's K-rating), save it for your next trip near the store and see if they have a non-petite to compare. I can't remember if we have 60 or 90 days . . .
