I arrange my closet by clothing type and then by color. Last week I started hanging clothes together to figure out what to pack for a family get together at a Colorado ski resort. I ended up moving items in and out of my planned travel wardrobe in unexpected ways. rejected Itemst I was sure I'd take, ending up with a color scheme of brown, black, cream, and blue jeans and a blue denim jacket. (Not a jean jacket.)

The brown items were mostly bought during the pandemic, on sale, and as an experiment since I turned against brown, probably when I went gray. I have a brown Henley from Macy’s that cost about $12 and it went well with brown and black animal print jeans I have. And that along with my new rose Nike’s and the similar colored scarf.

I love camel on other women, even gray-haired women. At some point I decided I didn’t feel right wearing it—too washed out maybe. The ads for fall showing earth tones call to me. I think I’ll try a camel top and see how it feels.

I was nervous about travelling with the resurgence of Covid and flying for the first time in almost 2 years. We are vaccinated, but don’t want to even catch a cold. I had no idea how nervous I should have been! Mr. Maven went to the ER and was admitted to the hospital a day before we were to leave. He is home after 4 nights, but we had to cancel the. We thought we had a chance he could be out sooner and make it a couple of days later—no way as it turns out. I’m glad he started feeling symptoms before we got to Colorado.

He will have lots of tests and ultrasound in the next few days. Right now it looks like he will likely need a couple of surgeries. We’ll know more in a few days.

Okay—this is the only photo I have handy testing the brown look. Below are some of the items I planned on the BR crew sweater in cream, not gray.
