Next week, I'll be traveling for a professional conference - 6 days, 5 nights. First day is purely travel, conference starts the evening of day 2. I go straight to the airport from the conference on day 6. Dress code is business casual. Conference is in South Carolina, where spring has definitely arrived, though I expect I will spend much of my time in an air-conditioned hotel meeting room. It's a small event, so I'll be seeing the same people all day for the 5 days of the conference.

Here's what I'm thinking of taking for outfits. Of course, I'll also be packing other essentials like sleepwear, running clothes, undergarments, etc.

Bottoms: Jeans, LOFT black pencil, Gap gray pants, Lands End tuxedo pants

Tops: red tee, LOFT black and white shell, BR Factory purple blouse, Brooks Brothers blue shirt, BR framed shirt, JCrew blue sweater

Toppers: LOFT black cardi, H&M black blazer,

Shoes: Sam Edelman Petty booties, Cole Haan wedges

For outerwear I'll either bring a khaki trench or a gray rain jacket (see finds), depending on the weather forecast. The former is more professional, the latter travels really well and still looks okay with business casual attire. I'll have a Baggallini tote large enough for my laptop and work papers. If it looks like the weather will be running on the cool side, I'll bring black pumps instead of the wedges and some black tights.

Outfits:

Pic #1. Jeans, tee, cardi - for my long travel day there.

Pic #2. Pencil skirt and blue sweater. I'll probably wear the sweater with jeans in the morning before the conference starts.

Pic #3. Blazer, purple blouse, gray pants. Thought about tucking the blouse, but like the long line created by the blouse's beading.

Pics #4-6. The tuxedo pants are new. Do they look to be the right length? I couldn't decide about tucking, and pictured it two ways. I took a picture from the side so you could see the stripe.

Pic #7. Pencil skirt and buttoned blue shirt.

Pic #8. Gray pants, black blazer, black and white shell. I have to fly in this outfit since I'll have no time to change before going on the plane. It's not as comfy as I prefer for air travel, but it will do.

These aren't completely styled. I expect I'd end up rolling the sleeves of the buttoned shirts. For accessories, would probably wear my watch and some earrings.

Feedback and ideas welcome! Looking at my own pictures, I don't care very much for my day 1 outfit, but it's so practical I might leave it as is.
